Envision Energy India introduced its advanced EN 182/5 MW onshore wind platform at the Wind Energy Hamburg 2024 event. The new platform boasts a 40% increase in annual energy production compared to the previous EN 156/3.3 MW model.
This new platform boosts annual energy output (AEP) by more than 40% compared to the existing EN 156/3.3 MW model, delivering substantial advantages for customers. With its larger swept area, the platform can operate at temperatures up to 50°C and maintains a 98% uptime in high wind conditions, showcasing Envision’s technological capabilities.
The 5 MW onshore platform also features upgraded smoke and fire detection systems. Envision is working to enhance its localization efforts, increasing the local content in the supply chain from 60% for the EN156/3.3 MW platform to 75% for the new model.
With an investment of approximately ₹500 crore, Envision has positioned India as a key market, generating over 2,500 direct and indirect jobs. To sustain this growth, the company has established an annual manufacturing capacity of 3 gigawatts (GW) in India, operating a cutting-edge plant for nacelles and hubs in Pune, and another for blades in Trichy.
