EnerMech has been awarded a five-year contract to deliver integrated mechanical, electrical and instrumentation maintenance services at the Lytton Refinery, operated by Ampol. The agreement expands EnerMech’s role at the refinery and strengthens its position as one of Ampol’s key service partners for mechanical, electrical and instrumentation (ME&I) support.

The new contract significantly broadens the scope of services EnerMech will provide at the site. The company has previously delivered electrical and instrumentation maintenance at the refinery for the past three years. Under the updated agreement, EnerMech will now integrate mechanical services into its existing responsibilities, creating a fully coordinated ME&I maintenance solution.

The expanded scope includes scaffolding and rope access services alongside mechanical maintenance, enabling EnerMech to support both day-to-day operational requirements and major turnaround activities. By consolidating these services under a single provider, the refinery aims to streamline maintenance planning, improve operational efficiency and ensure consistent safety standards across the site.

To support the increased scope of work, EnerMech will expand its on-site workforce significantly. The team currently deployed at the refinery consists of 19 electrical personnel. Under the new arrangement, this will grow to a multidisciplinary workforce of approximately 50 specialists, including mechanical, electrical and instrumentation technicians as well as access and scaffolding professionals.

The Lytton Refinery has been in operation since 1965 and remains one of Australia’s key fuel refining assets. Located in Queensland, the refinery plays an important role in the country’s fuel supply chain by producing petroleum products used in transportation, aviation and industry. The facility also contributes to regional employment and economic activity.

Charles “Chuck” Davison Jr., Chief Executive Officer of EnerMech, said the contract extension reflects the strength of the company’s relationship with Ampol and the reliability of the services delivered at the site. According to Mr Davison, the agreement builds on the successful collaboration between the two organizations and demonstrates EnerMech’s ability to support complex energy infrastructure operations.

He added that the integrated ME&I maintenance model will allow the company to deliver a coordinated approach to asset management, helping maintain safe operations and consistent refinery performance over the life of the contract. Jason Jeow, Vice President for Asia Pacific at EnerMech, said the expansion of services places an even greater emphasis on safety and operational discipline. He noted that the company’s teams will work closely with Ampol’s personnel to ensure maintenance activities are carried out efficiently while maintaining strict safety standards. According to Mr Jeow, the focus will be on proactive maintenance practices and structured execution to support the refinery’s reliability while enabling effective planning for future shutdowns and operational upgrades.

The contract will be delivered through EnerMech’s Infrastructure and Industrial Solutions division, which provides engineered services to land-based energy and industrial facilities. The division supports assets throughout their operational life cycle, including pre-commissioning, commissioning, operations support, maintenance and shutdown management.

EnerMech provides specialized services to industries such as LNG, petrochemicals, refining and emerging energy sectors. Its integrated service model is designed to ensure industrial assets operate safely and efficiently while meeting regulatory and performance requirements.
