Enerin, a specialist in high-temperature heat pump technology, has completed a €15 million (NOK 180 million) Series A funding round led by Climentum Capital, The Footprint Firm, Johnson Controls and Move Energy, with additional participation from PSV Hafnium and Momentum. The investment will enable the company to move from technology pioneering to full-scale industrialisation and expand the deployment of its solutions across global markets.

Arne Høeg, Founder and CEO of Enerin, said the funding marks a turning point for the business, allowing proven high-temperature solutions developed in Norway to be adopted worldwide. He noted that industrial companies are increasingly committed to decarbonising heat, but have lacked systems that are practical, profitable and compatible with daily production environments. Fossil-fuel boilers, which account for nearly one-fifth of global CO₂ emissions, remain one of the hardest industrial assets to replace due to the tough operating conditions and temperatures required, and the limitations of traditional heat pumps.

Enerin’s modular and standardised system is designed to overcome these obstacles by automatically adjusting to factory operating conditions while delivering temperatures up to 250°C. According to Høeg, this flexibility helps customers transition away from gas boilers without modifying their production processes, while reducing energy consumption by 50–70 percent. He added that clean industrial heat becomes commercially viable at scale when economic returns and operational simplicity are built into the system.

The company’s HoegTemp platform has already been piloted with major industry players, including GE Healthcare, Pelagia and IVAR IKS Biogas in the pharmaceutical and animal-feed segments. The technology has also been recognised by the State of New York as a finalist for the $10 million Empire Technology Prize for decarbonised heating applications. Following the Series A investment, Enerin will shift from customised production to serial manufacturing of its standardised modules.

Henrik Ree Eriksen, CFO of Enerin, said that securing an oversubscribed international Series A in today’s market reflects strong belief in both the company’s technology advantage and the team’s ability to scale through a repeatable platform rather than bespoke deployments. Raymond Carlsen, Chair of Enerin and former CEO of Scatec ASA, added that the participation of Johnson Controls alongside leading European investors reinforces the strategic relevance of Enerin’s work.

Founded in 2017 and headquartered in Asker, Norway, Enerin designs and manufactures HoegTemp high-temperature heat pumps based on the Stirling cycle. The system provides hot water or steam up to 250°C with high efficiency and precise temperature control, enabling industrial facilities to reduce emissions and decarbonise heat-intensive processes at scale.
