Diamond Power Infrastructure Ltd (DPIL) is pleased to announce that its wholly owned subsidiary, DICABS NextGen Special Alloys Private Limited, has officially commenced commercial production at its second integrated aluminium rod mill located at its Vadodara facility. This new unit adds a monthly production capacity of 2,500 metric tonnes (30,000 MT annually), specifically focused on the manufacture of AL59 wire rods—a next-generation aluminium alloy designed for high-performance power transmission conductors.
With this latest milestone, two out of three greenfield rod mills at the Vadodara site are now operational. The group’s cumulative installed rod production capacity has now increased to 73,200 MT per annum, strengthening DPIL’s position in the aluminium conductor market.
Currently, Diamond Power Infrastructure Ltd operates a rod mill with a monthly production capacity of 1,200 metric tonnes. This facility forms the foundation of the company’s rod manufacturing operations and supports its long-standing presence in the power infrastructure sector.
In addition to this, DICABS NextGen, the company’s wholly owned subsidiary, runs a separate rod mill with a production capacity of 2,400 metric tonnes per month. This unit plays a key role in expanding the group’s capabilities in advanced aluminium alloy production, catering to growing industry demand.
Most recently, DICABS NextGen has commissioned a new rod mill with a capacity of 2,500 metric tonnes per month. With this facility now operational, the group continues to scale its manufacturing infrastructure, bringing the combined monthly rod production capacity across all units to 6,100 metric tonnes. This expansion significantly enhances the group’s ability to meet growing demand in the power transmission sector and marks a key step forward in scaling its advanced alloy manufacturing capabilities.
Diamond Power Infrastructure Ltd (also known as “DICABS”) is a major integrated provider in India’s power transmission & distribution (T&D) sector. Established in 1992 and based in Vadodara, Gujarat, the company manufactures a wide range of products—including conductors, low-, high- and extra-high-voltage cables, transformers (both power and distribution), and transmission towers.
Besides manufacturing, Diamond Power offers EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) services, enabling turnkey solutions across the T&D value chain. Under its brand “DICABS,” its products are used by utilities, power plants, industrial users and infrastructure projects across India.
Also, its subsidiary, DICABS NextGen Special Alloys, has started commercial production of AL-59 wire rods in Vadodara and is setting up additional rod mills to raise capacity significantly. After going through a corporate insolvency resolution process (CIRP) in 2022, the company came under new management. It resumed commercial production under this new regime starting December 2022, and is now in the midst of scaling up its facilities and operations.
