Daimler Truck AG, Lambert Defence and Soframe have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a framework for cooperation in response to the Belgian Defence’s Tactical Logistic Trucks Program (TLTP) tender. The programme is aimed at renewing and expanding the logistics vehicle fleet of the Belgian Armed Forces through the acquisition of modern tactical transport capabilities designed to meet evolving operational requirements.

The partnership brings together the complementary expertise and industrial capabilities of the three companies to develop a robust, reliable and mission-ready solution tailored to the needs of Belgian Defence. The collaboration also builds on previous defence projects successfully delivered by the partners for the Belgian Armed Forces, providing a foundation of established cooperation and field-proven capabilities.

Under the proposed cooperation framework, Daimler Truck AG will contribute its established military vehicle platforms and global industrial expertise. Soframe will provide its specialised capabilities in the design and manufacture of qualified protected cabs, including a cabin solution already approved for use by the Belgian Armed Forces. Lambert Defence will lead vehicle integration activities in Belgium, drawing on its local industrial presence, knowledge of the Belgian defence market and lifecycle support capabilities.

A central objective of the partnership is to maximize Belgian industrial participation throughout the programme. Vehicle integration and, where applicable, the local production and assembly of key components such as armoured cabs, chassis and bodywork are intended to be carried out in Belgium. Support and lifecycle activities are also expected to generate opportunities for local employment, technical skills development and industrial investment.

The approach is designed to address the operational requirements of the Belgian Armed Forces while contributing to the strengthening of Belgium’s national defence industrial base. By combining international vehicle expertise with local industrial capabilities, the partners aim to create long-term value extending beyond the initial vehicle supply phase. The signing of the MoU represents an important milestone in the preparation of a joint response to the forthcoming TLTP procurement process. It also demonstrates the partners’ commitment to supporting European defence cooperation, strengthening industrial resilience and developing sustainable capabilities within the region.

Following the agreement, Daimler Truck AG, Lambert Defence and Soframe will focus on assessing the detailed programme requirements, defining the proposed technical and industrial solution and preparing a coordinated response to the Belgian Defence tender. Through the planned collaboration, the three companies seek to combine proven technologies, protected mobility expertise, local integration capabilities and comprehensive lifecycle support to deliver a solution capable of meeting the Belgian Armed Forces’ tactical logistics requirements while maximizing the benefits of industrial participation in Belgium.
