Daifuku Co. Ltd, one of the global leaders in material handling systems, has announced a major expansion plan for its Indian subsidiary, Daifuku Intralogistics India Private Limited. Daifuku acquired Hyderabad-based Vega Conveyors & Automation in 2019 as part of their business expansion in India. After consolidating Vega and Daifuku India operations in 2022, the company now renamed the subsidiary to Daifuku Intralogistics India Private Limited.

Daifuku, a Japanese multinational corporation that specializes in material handling and intralogistics solutions, has announced that its Indian subsidiary, Vega Conveyors & Automation Private Limited, has been renamed Daifuku Intralogistics India Private Limited.

Since 1937, Daifuku has been providing industry-leading systems that combine conveying, storage, sorting, picking, and controls to move finished goods and work in progress. Customers use their products in various industries and countries worldwide. Daifuku India Private Limited, a 100% subsidiary, previously offered Automatic Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS) in India.

In 2019, Daifuku acquired Hyderabad-based Vega, which provided consulting, design, manufacturing, sales, installation, and after-sales services for material handling systems in the Indian market. This move enabled Daifuku to strengthen its price competitiveness and develop products suitable for the Indian market.

Following the consolidation of the intralogistics branch of Daifuku India, including its Mumbai office, into Vega in April 2022, the company has rebranded Vega as Daifuku Intralogistics India. The move is expected to help Daifuku leverage its brand and technology to expand its business in the Asia and Oceania markets. Garimella Srinivas heads the company as its Managing Director.

India’s robust economic growth has fueled a surge in demand for automation in the manufacturing and logistics sectors. Daifuku Intralogistics India has announced plans to build a new manufacturing plant, which is expected to quadruple its production capacity to meet this demand. The plant is set to begin operations in 2024. With the renaming of its subsidiary and the expansion of its production capacity, Daifuku is well-positioned to cater to the growing demand for material handling and intralogistics solutions in India and beyond.
