Copia Automation has announced the launch of Copia Actions, a configurable workflow engine developed specifically for operational technology (OT) environments. The new platform is designed to automate critical industrial engineering processes, helping manufacturers and infrastructure operators strengthen governance, cybersecurity resilience and operational reliability across industrial code systems.

Copia Actions has been built to support industrial automation environments where programmable logic controllers (PLCs), human-machine interfaces (HMIs) and robotic controllers continue to rely heavily on manual engineering workflows. The platform enables organizations to automate tasks such as OT backup verification, code reviews, library version audits, compliance documentation and automated testing across connected industrial assets.

The launch comes at a time when industrial control systems are facing increasing cybersecurity and operational risks. As manufacturing facilities, utilities, data centers and critical infrastructure become more digitized, industrial code has emerged as a key operational asset requiring the same level of governance and security traditionally applied to enterprise software systems.

According to the company, industrial engineering teams have historically lacked automated workflow systems similar to those widely used in software development. In modern IT environments, software changes typically pass through automated testing, compliance checks and security validation before deployment. Copia Actions aims to bring a similar level of automation and traceability to industrial operations technology environments.

The platform integrates with Copia’s existing industrial code management ecosystem, including Copia Source Control and DeviceLink™, which provide version tracking, audit visibility and backup management for industrial devices. By combining automated workflows with code traceability and backup verification, the company says organizations can significantly reduce downtime and accelerate recovery in the event of operational disruptions or cyber incidents.

Recent attacks targeting industrial infrastructure have increased focus on OT cybersecurity and disaster recovery preparedness. The company stated that automated governance and verified recovery systems are becoming increasingly important as manufacturers face stricter compliance requirements and growing operational complexity.

Copia Actions has been designed as a configurable platform, allowing organizations to define workflows and governance standards according to their operational requirements. The system can also scale as industrial environments expand or regulatory expectations evolve.

Founder and Chief Executive Officer Adam Gluck stated that industrial code now plays a critical role in determining operational resilience, cybersecurity readiness and audit compliance for manufacturers and infrastructure operators. He added that Copia Actions helps bridge the gap between traditional OT practices and the automated governance models widely adopted in enterprise IT environments.

The launch reflects Copia Automation’s broader strategy of modernizing industrial code management by applying software engineering principles to operational technology systems. The company continues to focus on improving visibility, traceability and control across industrial automation environments to help organizations maintain uptime, strengthen compliance and improve recovery capabilities.
