Classic Legends has been granted a new patent for an adjustable visor and speedometer system, reinforcing its focus on rider-oriented engineering and functional design. The patented feature, first introduced on the 2025 Yezdi Adventure, has been granted protection for 20 years from March 21, 2023, under the Patents Act, 1970.
The patented system allows riders to adjust the visor and speedometer position to suit rider height and riding conditions, including off-road use. According to the company, the development addresses rider comfort and visibility by improving the interface between the rider, motorcycle and surrounding environment.
Classic Legends stated that the innovation is part of its broader engineering-led approach to motorcycle development, where design decisions are driven by functional requirements rather than styling alone. The company has built a portfolio of intellectual property as part of its efforts to revive legacy motorcycle brands for domestic and international markets.
Previously, Classic Legends received a patent for its Airfilter Multifrequency Resonator used in its 650cc platforms, including the BSA Gold Star and BSA Scrambler. The system is designed to reduce intake noise across the full engine speed range, unlike conventional resonators that operate at a single frequency.
The company was also an early entrant in introducing a liquid-cooled 334cc engine in the mid-capacity motorcycle segment. The Alpha 2 engine underpins several models and was developed to improve performance and thermal efficiency. Other early introductions in the segment include six-speed gearboxes, assist and slipper clutches, traction control systems and upgraded braking technologies.
Susheel Sinha, Head of R&D at Classic Legends, said the newly granted patent reflects the company’s emphasis on durable, rider-focused engineering solutions. He noted that design and mechanical decisions are made with long-term usability in mind.
Classic Legends stated that continued investment in engineering capability and in-house R&D has resulted in multiple patents granted and filed, along with several segment-first technologies across its motorcycle portfolio.
