The Board of Directors of CHIRON Group SE has announced the appointment of Roman Gaida as Chief Executive Officer, effective July 1, 2026. The leadership transition reflects the company’s continued emphasis on expanding its global footprint, strengthening customer engagement, and advancing sustainable, profitable growth.
Dr Armin Schmiedeberg, Chairman of the Board of Directors, stated that Mr Gaida brings a balanced combination of strategic direction, international leadership exposure, and technical expertise. His career progression—from hands-on experience in CNC machining to leading global business operations—positions him well to guide the company through its next phase of development.
Mr Gaida began his professional journey in 1999 with an apprenticeship as a machinist, gaining practical experience on the shop floor. Alongside his early career, he pursued further education, qualifying as a mechanical engineering technician before completing studies in industrial engineering. He later earned an MBA from RWTH Aachen University, strengthening his business and management foundation.
Over the years, he has held key leadership roles across engineering, sales, and general management in globally active technology organizations. His professional background includes positions at Wieland Group, OC Oerlikon Balzers, and Mitsubishi Electric, where he led the CNC business across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Most recently, he served as Chief Sales Officer at Bürkert Fluid Control Systems, overseeing worldwide sales, marketing, and service functions.
Markus Unterstein, Chief Financial Officer and interim spokesperson of the Group Executive Committee, highlighted the value Mr Gaida brings through his deep understanding of global markets and customer requirements. He noted that Mr Gaida’s experience is expected to strengthen coordination between sales, technology, and operational execution.
Upon assuming office, Mr Gaida will take overall responsibility for CHIRON Group SE while also leading its global sales activities. During his initial months, he will focus on gaining a detailed understanding of the company’s processes, markets, and customer expectations across its international operations.
The appointment aligns with the Board’s vision to position CHIRON Group as a comprehensive solutions provider in mechanical engineering. The company aims to expand its presence in digitalization and automation while focusing on high-growth, high-value business areas.
Headquartered in Tuttlingen, CHIRON Group is a global manufacturer of CNC vertical milling and mill-turn machining centers, along with turnkey production solutions.
