Safran Landing Systems and China Airlines have signed an agreement covering the overhaul of the main landing gears of China Airlines’ fleet of 18 Airbus A350-900 aircraft. The agreement was signed at Safran Landing Systems’ Singapore facility during MRO Asia-Pacific. It covers the airline’s complete Airbus A350-900 fleet and will support its landing gear maintenance requirements from 2026 through 2031.

Under the agreement, the company will provide landing gear overhaul services and associated technical support for China Airlines’ A350-900 fleet. The maintenance work will be carried out at Safran Landing Systems’ MRO centre in Singapore, using the company’s original equipment manufacturer expertise and maintenance, repair and overhaul capabilities.

The agreement expands the existing relationship between Safran Landing Systems and China Airlines. The airline already uses Safran Landing Systems for landing gear maintenance services for its Airbus A330 fleet. Other members of the CAL Group, including Tigerair Taiwan and Mandarin Airlines, also work with Safran Landing Systems for landing gear services on their respective aircraft fleets.

Olivier Thomas, Executive Vice President, Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul, Safran Landing Systems, said, “We are proud to strengthen our relationship with China Airlines through this new Airbus A350-900 landing gear overhaul agreement. This contract reflects the confidence China Airlines places in our teams, our technical expertise and our ability to support critical fleet operations over the long term. As airlines increasingly seek not only repair capabilities but also direct access to OEM expertise, we look forward to supporting China Airlines throughout this next chapter of its Airbus 350 journey.”

The agreement will be supported by Safran Landing Systems’ maintenance network across the Asia-Pacific region. The Singapore MRO centre provides landing gear maintenance services to airlines operating in the region and is positioned to support the growing demand for aircraft maintenance services.

The new contract adds the Airbus A350-900 to the landing gear maintenance support Safran provides to China Airlines and strengthens the company’s relationship with the CAL Group. Through the agreement, Safran Landing Systems will provide scheduled landing gear overhaul and technical support during the contract period, helping China Airlines maintain the availability and performance of its A350-900 fleet.
