Chevron Corporation has announced changes to its senior leadership team that will take effect on January 1, 2027. The appointments will assign new responsibilities across strategy and business development, Oil, Products & Gas, finance and New Energies.

Mark Nelson, currently vice chairman and executive vice president of Oil, Products & Gas, will continue as vice chairman and take responsibility for Strategy and Business Development. In addition to his corporate responsibilities, Nelson will identify and advance opportunities aimed at strengthening Chevron’s portfolio, improving competitiveness and supporting long-term growth.

Eimear Bonner, currently Chief Financial Officer, will become president of Oil, Products & Gas. She will oversee operations across the value chain, including safe and reliable operations, capital allocation, asset performance and value chain optimisation. Jeff Gustavson, currently president of New Energies, will become Chief Financial Officer. His responsibilities will include audit, controller, investor relations, tax, treasury and business planning activities across Chevron’s global operations.

Brent Gros, currently president of Offshore, will become president of New Energies. In this role, he will lead Chevron’s lower-carbon businesses, including hydrogen, power, carbon capture, offsets and biofuels. Mr Gros will also oversee Chevron’s artificial intelligence strategy, with a focus on value creation, operational performance, cost efficiency and innovation.

Mike Wirth, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Chevron, said: “Mark, Eimear, Jeff and Brent bring a combination of operational expertise, strategic perspective and a proven ability to deliver results across our business. Their experience, judgment and commitment to excellence will help position Chevron for continued success in an evolving energy landscape.”

The leadership changes come as Chevron continues to operate across the integrated energy value chain while expanding activities in lower-carbon energy and technology. Chevron is one of the world’s leading integrated energy companies. Its operations include the production of crude oil and natural gas, manufacturing of transportation fuels, lubricants, petrochemicals and additives, and development of technologies for the energy sector.

The company has said it aims to grow its oil and gas business while reducing the carbon intensity of its operations and developing new energy businesses. Its New Energies portfolio includes areas such as hydrogen, power, carbon capture, offsets and biofuels. The new leadership structure will take effect from January 1, 2027, with Nelson, Bonner, Gustavson and Gros moving into their respective roles as part of the company’s senior management team.
