Saif Khan, MD and CEO of BSH Home Appliances India, said, “We see great growth potential, with 15-20% growth for BSH and 25-30% growth in premium appliances.” Despite focusing on premium products, BSH is also making small refrigerators for the Indian market, aiming for 70% localization next year.

BSH, which makes Siemens and Bosch washing machines, has invested ₹200 crore in the second assembly line. The South Indian market is the largest for BSH, making up 48% of sales. Demand for premium appliances is high in Chennai and Tamil Nadu.

BSH plans to invest more in its India plant as needed. The company expects strong sales during the festive season in 2024, especially in rural markets where premium products are becoming popular.

Retailers across India saw a 3% year-over-year sales growth in May 2024, with South India showing a 4% increase, according to a Retailers Association of India survey.
