Blue Star Limited has introduced a new lineup of Room Air Conditioners for Summer 2026, expanding its portfolio of residential and commercial cooling products. The new range includes 125 models designed to meet varied consumer requirements across multiple price segments and climatic conditions. All models comply with the revised Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) standards that came into force on January 1, 2026.

The expanded range includes inverter split ACs, fixed-speed models, and window air conditioners, offering options suitable for different installation environments and budgets. A highlight of the new portfolio is the introduction of the premium ‘Iconia’ series, featuring a distinctive Midnight Silver finish and aimed at customers seeking advanced design and performance.

India’s air conditioning market is experiencing steady expansion driven by rising incomes, urbanisation and increasing demand for indoor comfort as temperatures rise. Industry estimates indicate that the room air conditioner market could grow from about 14 million units annually to nearly 30 million units by FY2030. Much of this growth is expected to come from Tier 3, 4 and 5 markets where air conditioner adoption remains relatively low but is expanding rapidly.

Blue Star’s latest portfolio includes specialised categories such as Super Energy-Efficient ACs, Heavy-Duty ACs, Hot & Cold ACs and models featuring Anti-Virus Technology. The company’s Super Energy-Efficient models incorporate Dynamic Drive Technology that enhances cooling performance while improving energy efficiency. A 1-ton inverter split model in this category delivers an ISEER rating of 6.25, making it significantly more efficient than conventional 3-star inverter air conditioners.

The Heavy-Duty range is designed to operate in demanding climatic conditions. These systems deliver strong airflow of up to 55 feet and maintain full cooling capacity even when ambient temperatures reach 43°C, while continuing to function in temperatures as high as 56°C.

Hot & Cold AC models provide year-round climate control and are designed for regions with colder winters. Certain models can operate effectively at temperatures as low as -15°C, while others function down to -5°C, making them suitable for markets with varying seasonal conditions.

The Anti-Virus Technology models incorporate advanced filtration systems that help remove airborne particles and harmful microbes while also functioning in air purification mode. Nearly 50 models in the range feature smart WiFi connectivity, enabling functions such as AI-based adaptive cooling, voice commands, customised sleep settings and energy monitoring. Additional technologies include multi-layer filtration, convertible cooling modes, self-clean systems, DigiQOcta sensors and Nano BluProtect coatings for enhanced durability.

To support the growing demand for room air conditioners, Blue Star has expanded its manufacturing capabilities. The company currently has an annual production capacity of about 1.4 million units, scalable to 1.8 million units. Manufacturing takes place at its facility in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh and two plants in Himachal Pradesh. Blue Star maintains a nationwide distribution presence across more than 900 towns through over 10,000 retail outlets and is supported by a service network of more than 2,100 partners.
