Blue Dart Express Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with India Post to expand its delivery network across Tier III and Tier IV towns and remote locations in India. The partnership aims to improve last-mile connectivity and help businesses reach customers in areas that are difficult to serve through existing delivery networks.
The collaboration combines Blue Dart’s express logistics capabilities with India Post’s extensive postal network. Under the arrangement, shipments addressed to the additional locations will be delivered through India Post’s network, complementing Blue Dart’s existing infrastructure. The expanded coverage will be introduced in phases.
The partnership is expected to create new opportunities for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), e-commerce sellers and large businesses seeking to expand their customer base beyond major cities. By improving access to smaller towns and remote communities, the two organisations aim to support wider participation in India’s growing commercial market.
Commenting on the agreement, Harpreet Singh, Member (Operations), Department of Posts, said the partnership was an important step for both organisations. He noted that India Post’s strong last-mile network would support the initiative and confirmed that the department would provide the necessary assistance to strengthen the collaboration. He also expressed interest in developing a broader partnership in the future.
Balfour Manuel, Managing Director of Blue Dart, said the company had spent more than 42 years building a trusted logistics network alongside Indian businesses. He said the partnership with India Post would build on this foundation and help businesses reach more customers in smaller towns and remote parts of the country.
Dipanjan Banerjee, Chief Commercial Officer of Blue Dart, said reaching customers beyond established markets was becoming increasingly important for SMEs, online sellers and enterprises. He added that the partnership would help businesses enter new markets, expand their presence and serve locations that were previously harder to reach.
Blue Dart provides express air and integrated transportation and distribution services to more than 56,400 locations across India. As part of DHL Group’s DHL eCommerce division, the company has access to an international logistics network covering more than 220 countries and territories. Its services include air express, freight forwarding, supply chain solutions, customs clearance and other value-added offerings.
The agreement builds on the longstanding relationship between Blue Dart and India Post. By combining their networks, the organisations aim to improve delivery access and convenience for businesses and customers across Bharat, particularly in smaller towns and remote communities.
