BikeWo Green Tech Limited has entered into a partnership with Yubhas Renewables Private Limited to begin commercial testing of solar-assisted electric three-wheelers for rural and semi-urban transportation. The initiative aims to evaluate the vehicles under real-world operating conditions before their planned commercial launch.

As part of the collaboration, BikeWo will use its rider network and operational expertise to assess the performance of the vehicles in daily last-mile mobility operations. The pilot programme will generate valuable operational data that will help improve the vehicle’s design, efficiency and reliability before large-scale deployment.

The trial will evaluate several performance parameters, including driving range, battery efficiency, payload capacity, ride comfort, braking performance, thermal management, operating costs and overall durability under different road and weather conditions. Feedback from BikeWo’s riders will also be used to fine-tune the vehicles for commercial use.

Beyond vehicle testing, the partnership also aims to promote rural entrepreneurship by creating livelihood opportunities through clean mobility solutions. The two companies are exploring a programme to train young people in vehicle operations, maintenance, customer service and small business management, helping them become independent owner-operators of electric vehicles.

The initiative is expected to support employment generation while improving transportation services in rural communities. The companies also plan to help eligible participants explore financing options available under the Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana, subject to lender approval and applicable eligibility criteria.

The long-term objective is to create a network of owner-operated solar-assisted electric vehicles that can provide passenger transport, agricultural logistics, village delivery services, healthcare transportation and other essential last-mile connectivity while generating stable income for rural families.

Commenting on the partnership, Hiten Pal Saklani, Chief Executive Officer of BikeWo Green Tech Limited, said the company continues to explore new mobility technologies that improve operational efficiency while supporting environmental sustainability. He said the collaboration with Yubhas Renewables will help evaluate a promising clean transportation solution under commercial conditions while opening new opportunities for entrepreneurship and employment in rural India.

Sai Satyam Pradhan, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Yubhas Renewables, said the company’s goal is to develop practical and affordable solar-assisted mobility solutions that meet the transportation needs of rural India. He added that working with BikeWo will provide valuable operational insights that will help improve the vehicle’s performance, reliability and commercial viability before its wider rollout.
