Bharat Gite, Managing Director and CEO of Taural India, was awarded the title of ‘Business Icon of the Year 2025’ during the Maharashtra-Europe Business Forum held in Frankfurt. The award was presented by Uday Samant, Maharashtra’s Minister for Industries, along with key dignitaries including P Velrasu (CEO, MIDC), BS Mubarak (Consul General of India, Frankfurt), and Eberhardt Steinrücke (former Director General, IGCC).

The forum was part of Maharashtra Business Day 2025, organized jointly by the Maharashtra-Europe Business Forum and the Consulate General of India in Frankfurt. The event gathered more than 500 participants, including entrepreneurs and business leaders from both India and Germany, to discuss bilateral opportunities in industry and manufacturing.

“Bharat Gite’s work exemplifies the kind of enterprise Maharashtra aims to promote. His achievements show how homegrown companies can succeed internationally,” said Shri Samant. He also announced the allocation of 500 acres at MIDC for German firms and 100 acres specifically for Non-Resident Maharashtrians interested in investing in the state.

Upon receiving the award, Bharat Gite said,“This recognition strengthens our resolve to push forward with innovation and quality. Our work at Taural India reflects the capacity of Indian manufacturing to operate at a global standard. We’ve built our progress on long-term vision and consistent effort.”

Earlier this year, Taural India signed a ₹500 crore Memorandum of Understanding with the Maharashtra Government at the World Economic Forum in Davos. The agreement outlines the development of a high-tech manufacturing unit in Supa, Ahilyanagar district—a project set to generate substantial employment and contribute to regional growth. Gite’s recognition in Frankfurt underscores the increasing global relevance of local industry leaders.

Formed as a joint venture with Germany’s Thoni Alutec group, Taural India operates a fully integrated aluminium foundry in Pune. The company employs over 750 people and specializes in advanced aluminium casting solutions for a broad range of industries.

Taural India supports the “Make in India” initiative through its focus on domestic manufacturing of critical components for sectors such as railways, defence, marine, aerospace, energy, infrastructure, healthcare, and electric mobility. Its client base includes organizations like the Ordnance Factory Board, Indian Railways, ABB, General Electric, Siemens, and Hyosung, reflecting its role in supplying high-precision components to both public and private sector industries.
