Barnes Molding Solutions has officially rebranded as SPECTRIX, marking a strategic evolution designed to unify its capabilities and strengthen its global presence. The announcement was made at Chinaplas 2026, one of the world’s leading trade fairs for plastics and rubber technologies.
The newly launched SPECTRIX brand brings together a comprehensive range of injection molding technologies under one identity. It integrates the expertise of established brands including Männer, Foboha, Synventive, Priamus, Thermoplay, and Gammaflux, delivering a full spectrum of solutions spanning part design, material science, hot runner and mold technology, sensors and controls, and injection molding processes.
Despite the rebranding, the company has confirmed that daily operations will continue without disruption. Existing customer relationships, contracts, and processes remain unchanged, ensuring continuity for partners and stakeholders.
Under the leadership of President Marcello Vendemiati, SPECTRIX is accelerating its focus on global expansion. The company has recently inaugurated a new manufacturing facility in Pune, reinforcing its footprint in key growth markets. In addition, a new production site near Detroit is scheduled to commence operations in the near future.
The name “SPECTRIX” reflects a combination of “spectrum” and “plastics,” representing the company’s broad technological capabilities and commitment to innovation. Its tagline, “Enduring Advantage, Engineered,” highlights a focus on delivering long-term value through advanced engineering solutions across the manufacturing value chain.
SPECTRIX offers original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and high-volume producers a fully integrated, end-to-end approach—from initial product design to global-scale injection molding production. For complex applications, customers can also access the company’s in-house manufacturing capabilities, enabling the use of advanced production technologies such as cube molds within a single ecosystem.
The rebranding follows a broader organizational restructuring by Apollo Global Management, which separated operations into aerospace and industrial segments. Formerly part of the Barnes Group, the Molding Solutions division now operates as SPECTRIX within the industrial segment, supported by dedicated leadership and a more agile organizational structure.
Commenting on the transition, Marcello Vendemiati emphasized that while the company’s identity has evolved, its core principles remain unchanged, with continued emphasis on precision, reliability, and sustainable performance for customers worldwide. As a specialist in high-performance hot runner and mold solutions, the company has supported leading plastics manufacturers for decades by helping improve production efficiency, productivity, and sustainability.
Its strength lies in a portfolio of six well-established brands, each contributing expertise to meet diverse industry requirements. Molding Solutions brings together decades of engineering experience in mold and hot runner technology from Männer, Foboha, Synventive, and Thermoplay, along with advanced monitoring and process control capabilities from Priamus and Gammaflux.
By leveraging knowledge from multiple industries, markets, and regions, the company is well positioned to address the evolving challenges of the global plastics sector. This integrated approach enables it to deliver worldwide resources, consistent quality standards, and innovative solutions that help customers remain competitive in a rapidly changing market.
