AXISCADES Technologies Limited (BSE: 532395 | NSE: AXISCADES), an Indian aerospace and defence technology company, has announced a strategic partnership with OGMA – IndústriaAeronáutica de Portugal, an Embraer group company, to jointly develop aerospace manufacturing and MRO capabilities, along with airframe engineering and certification services for commercial and military aircraft.
As part of its plan to expand into higher-value, long-duration service segments within the aerospace domain, AXISCADES has entered into an agreement with OGMA to provide maintenance and support services for Embraer aircraft and other manufacturers’ fleets operating in India. The company noted that Embraer’s presence in India includes VVIP and VIP aircraft, AEW&C platforms, and a range of commercial aircraft.
AXISCADES stated that the collaboration brings together its capabilities in aircraft engineering, avionics, conversion programs, radar, electronic warfare systems, and drone technologies with OGMA’s long-established experience in airframe and engine maintenance, repair and overhaul. The companies will jointly evaluate business opportunities in India, the UAE, and broader MENA markets. The partnership will also draw on OGMA’s working relationships across the global OEM ecosystem, including Embraer, Airbus Defence, Rolls-Royce, Pratt & Whitney and other major aerospace players.
AXISCADES also highlighted that it is building one of the country’s largest integrated aerospace and defence manufacturing and MRO facilities near Bengaluru International Airport. The upcoming hub will include dedicated aircraft hangars, speed shops, engine shops, a welding centre of excellence, electronics manufacturing, system integration infrastructure and certification testing capabilities. Through this arrangement, AXISCADES aims to strengthen domestic MRO capacity and develop globally benchmarked competencies within India by leveraging OGMA’s technical expertise and operational experience.
Alfonso Martinez, CEO-International, AXISCADES Technologies Ltd, said the agreement is an important step in building a stronger aerospace and defence service ecosystem. He added that the combination of OGMA’s maintenance strength with AXISCADES’ engineering depth and infrastructure roadmap will help address demand in high-growth regions such as India, the UAE and the wider MENA market, while supporting India’s self-reliance priorities.
Paulo Monginho, CEO of OGMA, said the company welcomes the partnership with AXISCADES and described it as an opportunity to expand OGMA’s reach while jointly delivering certified, high-quality maintenance and engineering solutions to customers in India and beyond.
