Ather Energy has announced that its customers now have access to more than 5,000 public fast-charging points for electric two-wheelers across India. These chargers use the LECCS (Light Electric Combined Charging System) connector and are spread across over 395 cities.

Of the total network, more than 3,675 fast chargers are operated directly by Ather, while over 1,400 chargers are available through partner networks. The charging points are located across metro cities, tier 2 and tier 3 towns, and along key intercity routes, making both daily commutes and longer journeys more convenient for riders.

Major cities such as Bengaluru, Pune, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, and Mumbai now each have more than 100 LECCS-compatible chargers, with Bengaluru alone hosting over 240. States with the widest charger availability include Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Gujarat.

Smaller cities such as Nashik, Malappuram, and Indore have more than 45 fast chargers each, while Kozhikode and Coimbatore have over 65 each. Ather has also expanded its charging footprint beyond India, with more than 30 fast chargers now operational in Nepal and Sri Lanka.

Commenting on the expansion, Ravneet Singh Phokela, Chief Business Officer at Ather Energy, said that charging infrastructure remains central to electric vehicle adoption. He noted that the company has steadily built charging capacity across cities as well as highways and intercity corridors, allowing riders to plan longer trips with greater confidence. He added that recent improvements, including the launch of a new fast charger, are aimed at making ownership simpler and more dependable.

Ather began developing its own charging connector for electric two- and three-wheelers and opened its intellectual property in 2021 to support wider industry adoption. The LECCS connector received approval from the Bureau of Indian Standards in 2023 and has since been notified under Indian charging standards.

Several OEMs and charging operators, including Hero Vida, Matter, Bolt, Kazam, and EVamp, have adopted the standard, improving compatibility across the sector. Ather Grid chargers are now also visible on Google Maps, allowing riders to locate and navigate to compatible charging points easily.

Founded in 2013 by Tarun Mehta and Swapnil Jain, Ather Energy designs and manufactures electric scooters in India. Its product lineup includes the Ather 450 performance range and the Ather Rizta family scooter range, together offering nine variants. As of September 30, 2025, Ather has installed over 4,300 fast and neighbourhood chargers globally, supported by strong in-house research and development capabilities.
