Ather Energy marked the fourth edition of Ather Community Day with the launch of its new electric scooter, Konarc, along with new technologies focused on vehicle health, battery safety and charging. The annual event brought together more than 4,600 riders, EV enthusiasts and members of the Ather community.
The event featured four major announcements — Konarc, Ather True Health™, the fifth-generation Ather Bedrock™ Battery platform and AtherNode™. The new products and services address areas such as everyday scooter use, battery life, resale value and charging access for electric two-wheelers.
Konarc is Ather’s newest scooter and the first model based on the company’s new EL platform. Designed for Indian riding conditions, it focuses on comfort, stability, practicality and ease of ownership. The scooter will be available in six variants across the S and Z product lines, with IDC range options from 100 km to 200 km. Konarc comes with a 10,000-km service interval, or once a year for most riders, whichever comes first. It also offers easier access to wear-and-tear components.
All Konarc variants are equipped with the fifth-generation Bedrock Battery and come with a 10-year or 1,00,000-km warranty, whichever comes first, with a 70% state-of-health guarantee. The scooter also introduces features including Advanced Electronic Braking System, MagicKey, AutoPop and AirWalk. Onboard Charging and Combined Charging can reduce home charging time by up to half.
Tarun Mehta, Co-Founder and CEO, Ather Energy, said the company’s latest launches were developed to address practical challenges faced by EV users. “This year, we have some of our biggest launches across the vehicle, battery, charging and ownership experience. Each of these comes from a different problem we have been working on, but the larger goal is the same: to keep removing the barriers that come with new technology and make EVs a more natural choice for more people,” he said.
Ather also introduced its fifth-generation Bedrock Battery platform with BreachSense™, a monitoring system designed to identify microscopic battery damage after a high-impact accident. The system can detect possible moisture-related micro-leaks and alert riders so appropriate action can be taken.
The new battery platform also has five times higher cell-balancing capability than the previous generation. Ather expects the batteries to reach 70% state of health at around 1 lakh to 1.2 lakh km, compared with approximately 80,000 to 1,00,000 km for the previous generation.
AtherNode is designed for apartment and commercial communities where limited electrical capacity can restrict EV charging. A central gateway can manage up to 1,000 chargers while distributing available power according to vehicle requirements and building load.
Ather True Health provides riders with a vehicle health score based on connected-vehicle data, including age, kilometres ridden, riding behaviour, component condition, battery status and service history. It also provides information on key components and an estimated resale value for eligible scooters.
Founded in 2013, Ather Energy continues to focus on innovation, offering a portfolio that includes the performance-oriented 450 series and the Rizta family scooter line. The company remains committed to advancing India’s electric mobility ecosystem through technology, infrastructure, and design excellence.
