Astra Microwave Products Limited (Astra), a leading Indian company engaged in the design, development, and manufacturing of advanced electronics systems for the Defence, Aerospace, and Space sectors, announced its unaudited financial results for the quarter and half-year ended 30th September 2025. For Q2 FY26, Astra reported a geographical revenue mix of 85.8% from India and 14.2% from exports, while for H1 FY26, domestic sales contributed 87.8% and exports accounted for 12.2%. The company’s standalone order book stood at ₹1,916 crore as of September 30, 2025, with ₹238 crore worth of new orders received during the quarter.

Commenting on the results, SG Reddy, Managing Director, Astra Microwave Products Limited, said “We have delivered a strong performance in the first half of FY26, achieving higher revenues and improved margins supported by a favourable business mix. During the period, Astra recorded standalone revenues of ₹410 crore, with an EBITDA margin of 20.6% and a PAT margin of 8.2%. Our diversified product portfolio continues to cater to critical Defence and Space applications, reaffirming our leadership in indigenous high-technology solutions.”

Mr Reddy highlighted Astra’s recent contribution to ISRO’s CMS-03 satellite, the heaviest communication satellite ever launched from Indian soil — a proud milestone in India’s space achievements. He added that Astra has been a long-standing partner in India’s space missions for over 25 years, consistently delivering high-performance microwave systems and components.

In October 2025, Astra’s joint venture Astra Rafael Comsys Pvt Ltd (ARC) secured a ₹286 crore order from the Ministry of Defence for supplying advanced communication systems to the Indian Air Force’s Special Forces. Astra also continues to meet the Software Defined Radio (SDR) requirements of multiple defence agencies, supported by repeat orders reflecting its proven capabilities.

“India’s defence sector is entering a transformative phase, driven by a 15-year roadmap that prioritizes indigenization, next-generation communication systems, and the development of anti-drone technologies,” added Mr Reddy. “With growing emphasis on exports and R&D-led innovation, Astra is well-positioned to play a pivotal role in advancing India’s defence and aerospace capabilities.”

Founded in 1991 by a team of accomplished scientists with deep expertise in RF, Microwave, and Digital Electronics, Astra has evolved into a globally recognized player in high-technology manufacturing. The company operates advanced infrastructure equipped with three automatic PCB assembly lines, seven Class 10K cleanrooms, and one Class 100K cleanroom, along with RF and Microwave test instruments ranging from 30 MHz to 40 GHz.

Astra is also home to India’s first Near-Field Antenna Test and Measurement Range developed by a private enterprise, along with in-house EMI/EMC and environmental testing facilities. The company holds multiple international quality and process certifications, including AS9100D, ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, ISO/IEC 17025:2017, and ISO 27001:2013.

Over the years, Astra has expanded its portfolio from microwave components such as filters, transmitters, receivers, and antennas to complex systems serving Defence, Aerospace, and Metrology applications. With its continued focus on innovation, reliability, and indigenization, Astra Microwave Products Limited remains a key contributor to India’s technological self-reliance in strategic sectors.
