ASML, the Netherlands-based technology leader, has presented TRUMPF with its prestigious Supplier Award in the “Technology” category, celebrating the successful creation and “first light” of a new high-energy EUV laser designed for ASML’s next-generation lithography systems. The laser will play a key role in producing the world’s most advanced microchips, with serial production set to begin in 2026.
ASML’s Senior Vice President of Strategic Sourcing and Procurement, Sheila Leenders, stated that the upcoming TRUMPF lasers are expected to enhance the power and reliability of ASML’s EUV systems while reducing energy consumption. Engineered with over 450,000 individual components and weighing more than 20 tons, the new EUV laser represents a major advancement in semiconductor manufacturing. It delivers higher operational efficiency and sustainability, contributing to lower CO₂ emissions and resource savings.
Volker Jacobsen, CEO EUV at TRUMPF, expressed that the recognition highlights the team’s innovation and the strength of TRUMPF’s collaboration with ASML. “This award reaffirms our shared vision of advancing semiconductor technology while promoting sustainability,” he noted. The honor was conferred during the ASML Suppliers’ Day on October 23, 2025, with the first units of the new high-energy lasers slated for delivery in 2026.
