Amara Raja Energy & Mobility Limited (ARE&M) reported a 13% increase in revenue for the second quarter of FY27 compared with the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. The company reported profit before tax of ₹250.71 crore and earnings per share of ₹10.29 for the quarter. It also announced an interim dividend of ₹4.30 per equity share.
The performance was supported by double-digit growth in the automotive battery aftermarket and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) segments, along with growth in the Home Energy business. The New Energy business also recorded higher demand for stationary telecom battery packs.
Harshavardhana Gourineni, Executive Director – Automotive and Industrial, said strong demand from four-wheeler and two-wheeler OEMs, combined with healthy aftermarket volumes, helped domestic revenue grow by more than 10%. The Industrial UPS business recorded growth of over 7%. He added that international demand remained strong, although geopolitical disruptions to shipping had temporarily affected the company’s ability to meet orders. ARE&M expects export growth to improve as logistics conditions return to normal.
Vikramadithya Gourineni, Executive Director – New Energy Business, said the company continued to record volume growth, led by the stationary segment. He said Giga Factory-1 in Telangana remained on schedule. With the telecom sector increasingly shifting towards lithium-based solutions, the company expects to build on its position in the segment. He also said the company’s battery energy storage system (BESS) plant was expected to begin operations in November 2026, adding to its capabilities across the energy storage value chain.
Jayadev Galla, Chairman and Managing Director, said the lead-acid battery business continued to perform well across segments, while the New Energy business maintained its growth momentum. He said progress at the Giga Factory was in line with the company’s plans to develop its energy solutions business.
