Adani Total Gas signs agreement with INOXCVA to strengthen LNG ecosystem

Adani Total Gas Ltd (ATGL) and INOX India Ltd (INOXCVA) join together, and the collaboration entails a mutual support pact wherein both companies designate each other as “preferred partners.” This agreement aims to facilitate the provision of LNG and LCNG equipment and services and seeks to foster collaboration opportunities to fortify the LNG infrastructure within the nation.

Adani Total Gas Limited (ATGL) is a joint venture between Adani Group and TotalEnergies. Specializing in the distribution of natural gas, ATGL operates in various sectors, including city gas distribution (CGD), compressed natural gas (CNG) retailing, and piped natural gas (PNG) for residential, industrial, and commercial sectors. INOXCVA is a world-renowned engineering, manufacturing, and construction company specializing in cryogenic equipment and solutions. The company offers many products, including cryogenic tanks, vaporizers, and liquefied natural gas (LNG) solutions. Serving industries such as energy, healthcare, and food processing, it is committed to delivering cutting-edge technologies that meet the evolving needs of its global clientele.

In the joined collaboration, ATGL and its preferred associates will enjoy exclusive project-level advantages, including priority treatment and access to cutting-edge scheduling technologies. This collaboration extends to exploring joint ventures to establish LNG/LCNG stations, satellite LNG stations, and the transition to LNG as a primary transport fuel. Furthermore, both parties will explore opportunities in LNG logistics and developing small-scale liquid hydrogen solutions for various industries.

Under the terms of the mutual support agreement, each party will contribute its unique expertise to developing LNG infrastructure, including small-scale LNG plants and stations. This collaboration aims to achieve economies of scale in converting heavy vehicles to LNG while prioritizing best practices in health, safety, and environmental standards, as well as fuel efficiency and service quality.

ATGL’s Executive Director and CEO, Suresh P Manglani, highlighted the issue of escalating air pollution and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, emphasizing the need for action amidst rapid industrial expansion and a surge in heavy vehicle usage for goods transportation. The collaboration with INOXCVA, he stated, aims to facilitate ATGL’s phased transition of long-haul heavy vehicles and buses from high-speed diesel (HSD) to liquefied natural gas (LNG), thereby targeting a 30% reduction in CO2 and GHG emissions. Manglani also outlined plans for the accelerated establishment of LNG stations nationwide to encourage fleet operators to adopt LNG as a cleaner transportation fuel.

Siddharth Jain, INOXCVA’s Promoter and Non-Executive Director underscored the necessity of ensuring sustainable transitions as the economy accelerates. He expressed enthusiasm for the partnership with ATGL, which aims to bolster the LNG ecosystem and advocate for LNG as a viable transport fuel option. Jain emphasized the combined synergies of both parties, leveraging their expertise and scale to benefit stakeholders by curbing emissions and fostering a greener transition.
