ABB India has taken a major step toward cleaner operations by introducing electric vehicles (EVs) into its intra-city logistics network. Aimed at reducing carbon emissions, the new fleet will handle the transport of both raw materials and finished goods between its factory and distribution center, and manage last-mile deliveries across Bengaluru.

The project was formally launched at the Smart Power facility in Nelamangala and the Hanchipura Distribution Centre, with participation from key leadership including Kiran Dutt (Electrification Commercial Lead), Saju SR (MU Manager), Jothi Prakash (Cluster Manager), Sergio Silvestri (Hub Manager, ELSP), Sergio Buttice (Commercial Operations Manager), and Kanda DB.

In a parallel effort at the Peenya unit, ABB India introduced its first electric truck for internal logistics. The launch event was led by Tuomo Hoysniemi, President – ABB Drive Products, alongside AR Madhusudan, Local Division Manager. This shift to electric transport is expected to make a meaningful impact by lowering Scope-3 emissions, aligning with ABB’s broader environmental goals. The initiative reflects the company’s dedication to sustainable practices and its vision of a greener, more responsible industrial future.
