ABB India Limited announced its financial results for the July–September quarter (Q3 CY2025), highlighting steady business performance driven by base order growth, strong revenue execution, and continued progress in sustainability. ABB India reported a strong performance in the third quarter of CY2025, with base orders rising 13% year-on-year, reflecting steady demand across key business segments. Although total orders declined by 3% YoY due to the timing of large projects, the company’s underlying growth momentum remained solid, supported by broad-based customer engagement and market resilience.

The company’s revenue grew 14% year-on-year, driven by efficient execution of its base order backlog and improved operational performance across divisions. Profitability remained healthy, with profit before tax at INR 542 crore and profit after tax at INR 409 crore, underscoring ABB India’s ability to sustain growth despite dynamic market conditions and cost pressures.

As of September 30, 2025, ABB India maintained a robust order backlog of INR 9,895 crore, ensuring strong revenue visibility for upcoming quarters. On the sustainability front, the company continued its progress toward environmental goals, achieving an 87.05% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions from the 2019 baseline, while all Motion factories were certified zero waste to landfill, reaffirming ABB India’s commitment to responsible and sustainable operations.

Commenting on the results, Sanjeev Sharma, Managing Director of ABB India, said, “This quarter’s results reflect our focus on consistent performance and disciplined execution. Growth in base orders and revenues has strengthened our momentum despite cautious customer spending. Our teams continue to deliver across 23 market segments, leveraging emerging opportunities in India’s evolving industrial environment. We remain committed to driving sustainable growth and operational excellence while progressing steadily toward our environmental goals.”

Total orders during the quarter stood at INR 3,233 crore, with Motion and Robotics & Discrete Automation leading growth. The Electrification business moderated due to the absence of last year’s large data center order, while Process Automation maintained steady order inflow. Order wins included solutions for wind converters, robotics for electric mobility and electronics assembly, automation systems for metals, and electrical systems for food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries. The company also secured contracts for gas chromatographs and oxygen analyzers from a leading energy company.

ABB India’s revenue for Q3 reached INR 3,311 crore, marking 14% year-on-year and 4% sequential growth. All business divisions reported higher revenues, with Robotics and Discrete Automation leading the momentum. Motion saw traction from traction motor deliveries, while Electrification maintained balanced growth across divisions. Process Automation witnessed a mixed trend with energy-related projects offsetting slower progress in process industries.

During the quarter, ABB India announced an investment in rare earth–free IE5 motors, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable innovation. The company also commissioned its ABB Ability™ SCADAvantage solution for THINK Gas Pvt Ltd, digitalizing operations across 10 states and 500 fuel stations. The quarter also marked 30 years of ABB India’s listing on the National Stock Exchange (NSE).

Profitability reflected rising material costs linked to import dependence and quality control order (QCO) compliance. Despite these factors, ABB India maintained a healthy cash balance of INR 4,991 crore at the end of the quarter, supported by efficient collections and prudent financial management.

ABB India made significant progress toward its sustainability targets. Compared to its 2019 baseline, Scope 1 and 2 emissions were reduced by 87.05%, while three of four sites achieved water positivity, and all four achieved zero waste to landfill certification.

ABB India remains well-positioned to benefit from India’s strong macroeconomic fundamentals, public infrastructure spending, and industrial policy reforms. Sectors such as renewables, data centers, electronics, process industries, and water treatment present strong growth prospects.

With a diversified portfolio across automation, electrification, and digitalization, ABB India is equipped to capitalize on emerging opportunities in energy efficiency, AI-driven automation, and grid modernization. Despite global uncertainties, ABB India’s localization strategy, resilient order pipeline, and alignment with national priorities reinforce its readiness for sustained, responsible growth.
