ABB India Limited has delivered its strongest-ever second-quarter order performance, driven by robust demand across infrastructure, manufacturing, energy transition and digitalisation sectors. The company reported a 50% year-on-year increase in order inflows for the April-June quarter of CY2026, while revenue grew 21%, supported by strong execution across its businesses.
The Board of Directors also approved a special dividend of ₹90 per equity share of face value ₹2 each, reflecting proceeds from the divestment of the Robotics business along with operational profits generated during the first half of CY2026. During the quarter, ABB India secured total orders worth ₹4,363 crore, the highest ever for a second quarter. For the first half of CY2026, total orders stood at ₹8,643 crore, registering a 36% increase over the corresponding period last year. The company’s order backlog rose 22% year-on-year to ₹11,898 crore, providing strong revenue visibility for the coming quarters.
Revenue for the April-June quarter reached a record ₹3,559 crore, while first-half revenue stood at ₹6,743 crore, reflecting sustained growth across the Electrification, Motion and Automation businesses. Demand remained strong from industries including metals and mining, data centres, renewable energy, food and beverage, cement, automotive, buildings, infrastructure, energy and chemicals.
Major orders during the quarter included low and medium-voltage switchgear and Ring Main Units for data centres, smart power products for renewable energy projects, electrical systems and drives for container terminals, e-houses for the metals industry and propulsion equipment for railway locomotives. Operational performance also remained resilient. Operational EBITA increased 23% to ₹461 crore, while the operating margin improved to 13%. The company said higher volumes, effective pricing strategies and continued cost optimisation supported profitability, although margins were partially impacted by higher freight, energy and commodity costs, including copper, silver and electrical steel.
Profit before tax stood at ₹499 crore, while profit after tax increased 8% to ₹370 crore for the quarter. ABB India noted that foreign exchange fluctuations and mark-to-market adjustments moderated growth in profit before tax despite strong operating performance.
Commenting on the results, Sanjeev Sharma, Country Managing Director, ABB India, said the record order inflows reflected customers’ confidence in the company’s technologies, manufacturing capabilities and execution excellence. He added that strong revenue growth, higher operational profitability and healthy cash generation demonstrate ABB India’s ability to convert demand into sustainable business performance.
Mr Sharma said India’s continued investments in infrastructure, manufacturing, grid modernisation, electrification, automation and digital technologies are creating long-term growth opportunities. Supported by a healthy order pipeline, local manufacturing capabilities and a diversified portfolio, the company is well positioned for the second half of the year.
ABB India also continued to strengthen its sustainability initiatives during the first half of CY2026. The company reduced its Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 85% compared to its 2019 baseline and remained committed to transitioning to 100% renewable electricity. Circularity remained a key priority, with 99.7% of waste diverted from landfill during the period. The company also expanded its water stewardship programme by launching Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS) certification at its Peenya facility and partnering with nearly 40 suppliers in Bengaluru to improve water management practices across its supply chain.
ABB India’s sustainability efforts received national recognition during the quarter. The company was named India’s Most Sustainable Company in the Capital Goods category at the Business Today India’s Most Sustainable Companies Awards 2026. It also improved its CRISIL ESG Rating from 64 to 67, reflecting continued progress in environmental, social and governance performance.
