The recently concluded 3rd Mumbai edition of Gartex Texprocess India emerged as a highly acclaimed platform, offering a comprehensive range of innovative products for sale and sourcing in the garment and textile manufacturing industry.

The occasion was graced by the esteemed presence of Chandrakant Patil, who serves as the Hon’ble Minister of Textile, Higher Education, and Technical Education, Parliamentary Affairs, State Border Defense, and Virendra Singh (IAS), the Secretary of Textiles for the Maharashtra Government, alongside other prominent figures in the industry. The 3rd Mumbai edition of Gartex Texprocess India saw the participation of 105 exhibitors and attracted 8,309 visitors who explored a showcase featuring cutting-edge garment manufacturing machinery, fabrics, advanced smart technology, textile printing solutions, and more.

During the Gartex Texprocess India event, informative sessions called ‘Gartex TALKS’ and ‘Denim TALKS’ were organized. On the first day, ‘Gartex TALKS’ featured a presentation by Ramesh Gosai, Principal Consultant at R R Gosai & Associates, focusing on the challenges of starting a business in the textile industry and strategies to overcome them for a successful establishment. Meanwhile, ‘Denim TALKS’ comprised four sessions discussing the latest trends and developments in the denim sector.

The series kicked off with a fireside chat on the ‘Denim Landscape’ between Amit Gugnani, Senior Partner at Technopak Advisors, and Aamir Akhtar, Group President and CEO of Jindal Worldwide Limited. Following this, Manuj Kanchan, Division Director – Central Asia at Jeanologia SL, delivered a presentation titled ‘Water Era is Over, Air is the Future’, highlighting Jeanologia SL’s innovative approach to denim manufacturing, emphasizing reduced water usage through air technology in denim dyeing.

During the ‘Denim Market India’ session, Madhulika Tiwari, a Partner at Technopak Advisors, provided a comprehensive overview. She discussed the evolution of Denim products across various demographics in India, offering valuable insights into the Denim journey in the country. Wrapping up the ‘Denim TALKS’ series was Puneet Dudeja, the Director of Business Development, South Asia, at WGSN. He delved into the Denim Trends AW 24/25, offering a glimpse into the future of Denim fashion.

Parvinder Singh, the Sales Director at Optitex, expressed, “Participating in Gartex has been beneficial for us. We have been regular participants for the past three years and have consistently received positive feedback.” Gunjan Panchal, a member of the Sales Team at Lion Denim, shared, “Our experience at the Denim Show has been incredibly positive. Our booth attracted a significant number of visitors, and we had meaningful interactions with other brands, manufacturers, and industry players. We are optimistic about the remaining day and hope for continued success.”

Sharad Jaipuria, serving as the President of DMA and the Managing Director of Ginni International Ltd, highlighted the significance of the Gartex Texprocess India Exhibition, emphasizing its status as one of India’s premier textile exhibitions. Featuring a comprehensive range of offerings, including fabrics, trims, machinery, and printing equipment, the exhibition has attracted nearly 30 denim mills this year. Jaipuria expressed optimism about the potential for substantial business opportunities, noting the high attendance and the keen interest of customers in exploring the latest fabric trends.

In a similar vein, Mayur Ghatak, CEO and Co-Founder of Codverse Technology, praised the exhibition’s visitor profile, describing them as niche and highly relevant to their business. He noted the exceptional quality of the visitors and credited the state-of-the-art facilities provided at the event for enhancing their brand visibility. Ghatak recommended Gartex Texprocess India as a prime platform for future trade shows, particularly for businesses serious about showcasing their products to the right audience.

Alok Parekh, Director of Shreenath Paper, shared his excitement about exhibiting for the first time at Gartex Texprocess India, stating, “Our experience has been truly remarkable, and we eagerly anticipate participating again. The event has attracted precisely the right visitor profile, and we’ve received export inquiries from various countries, with visitors showing keen interest in our offerings.”

Similarly, Suketu Shah, Chief Executive/Business Head of LNJ Denim, expressed his delight at returning to Gartex Texprocess India, saying, “It is immensely gratifying to connect with all the brands and the distribution network, and I am thrilled to be a part of this event once more.” Tapan Kapadia, Director of HSW Embroidery Machines, expressed, “Our experience here has been exceptional.”

He added, “We attracted a significant number of clients last year, and this year, we’re pleased to note a strong presence of buyers, especially from Kolkata, Madurai, and Delhi. Despite the show being in Mumbai, we are seeing interest from across India.” The 10th edition of Gartex Texprocess India in Delhi is scheduled for 1 – 3 August 2024 at YashoBhoomi (IICC) Dwarka, New Delhi, promising a showcase of cutting-edge innovations.
