Ashok Bakle the proprietor of Anand Machine Tools in an exclusive interaction with Machine Maker retraces the journey of his life and the company.
Ashok Bakle, the force behind Anand Machine Tools, shares insights into the company’s journey. Mr Bakle, an engineering graduate from Moscow, worked with TELCO (now Tata Motors) for 11 years before starting his entrepreneurial venture in 1995. From its roots in Pune, Anand Machine Tools has grown to serve a diverse range of sectors, including automotive, construction, and manufacturing. The company’s product lineup includes CNC machines, milling machines, lathes, and custom-designed equipment tailored to specific client needs. Initially focusing on consultancy and design solutions for the manufacturing sector, Bakle’s vision has transformed Anand Machine Tools into a leading manufacturer of special-purpose machines.
Ashok Bakle described their company as a multi-product venture, specializing in crafting high-quality machines for different industries. “Our flagship products like CNC machining centers, lathes, milling, and grinding machines are widely acclaimed”, said Ashok Bakle. He highlighted the importance of their special-purpose machines, custom-designed to enhance productivity and efficiency in various sectors by automating manufacturing processes. He further briefed about another core area of operation of the company namely, Horizontal Machining Centers that offer versatility and precision in machining parts from multiple angles, while vertical machining centers excel in producing intricate and complex components with high accuracy.
Ashok has leveraged his company expertise in the field of machining by using CNC machines to build a line of machines namely super-finishing machines that are used to improve the finish of the final component whether it be a crankshaft, cam shaft, or auto-bolt parts. Bakle emphasizes the versatility of broaching machines, highlighting their ability to produce complex shapes and cuts with high precision and efficiency. Through its innovation and engineering know-how, his company has paved the way for advancements in broaching technology, making these machines indispensable tools in the manufacturing process. His insights on the uses of broaching machines have not only improved productivity but also elevated the quality and accuracy of machined components in Indian companies.
Anand Machine Tool being a versatile manufacturer of machines has another product namely Deep hole drilling machines that are crucial for creating precise and accurate holes in materials such as metal, plastic, and wood. These machines are used in a wide range of applications, from manufacturing components for the aerospace and automotive industries.
Deliberating on another area of specialization of his company is the crankshaft fillet rolling process, Mr Ashok divulged fillet rolling process is a critical step in crankshaft production, where the corners of the crankshaft are smoothly rounded to enhance strength and durability. His innovative approach and attention to detail have revolutionized this process, leading to more efficient and high-quality crankshafts.
