igus has launched an extra-compact toothed belt axis by leveraging its flat drylin N linear system. This product has the following attributes: a translation of 60 millimeters per revolution, capacity to carry loads of up to 20 Newton, assembling time of a few minutes, very cost-effective, a completely standard fitment of components. This belt axis can result in quick automation in confined installation spaces.
igus has leveraged its linear construction kit to combine its drylin N low-profile linear guide with a toothed belt. The outcome is the drylin ZLN toothed belt axis as standard, which is very economical and novel. This product can be easily installed in a short time in the smallest of spaces, such as automation systems, service robotics, and vending machines.
The product has the following attributes: compact construction of 27 mm height and 40 mm width; mountings on ball bearings to enable high-speed dynamics; loads up to 20 Newton are vertically moveable at 60 mm per revolution: this is feasible by a combination of a low-profile linear guide and toothed belt; the sliding carriage has high-performance polymers to totally dispense with lubricants for maintenance of the unit; dust, dirt, and moisture are not a hurdle for operations, which makes it suitable for machines that are used 24 X 7.
The company assembles standard components from the drylin modular system to generate the new toothed belt axis. Because it is made of plastic, this new axis is lightweight and economical and can be delivered within a short time duration.
