ETA Technology Pvt Ltd made a strong presence at IMTEX 2026, held at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre, by showcasing its range of metal forming solutions – Friction Welders, Friction Stir Welders, Test Rigs , Electrical Uspetters and Friction Screw Presses. The company utilized a hybrid strategy combining physical machinery with digitalized experiences for solutions that are too large or complex to be displayed in a booth. The company used the platform to engage with manufacturers across aerospace, defence, automotive, infrastructure and other sectors.
The ETA Technology stand in Hall 2A Booth A107, saw steady interaction throughout the exhibition. Engineers, plant heads, and senior teams visited the booth to discuss the challenges faced in day-to-day production. Many conversations focused on joint-strength limitations in conventional welding, quality variation at high-volume output, and the difficulty of joining dissimilar materials.
ETA Technology positioned friction welding as a practical answer to these challenges. The machine enables precise joining of similar and dissimilar materials, often achieving joint strength that exceeds the weaker parent material. It is designed for high throughput while maintaining repeatability.
Aparajitha M., Technical Consultant at ETA Technology, shared how digital tools are now playing a deeper role in manufacturing environments. The focus has shifted from basic automation to using AI to capture manufacturing needs, analyse process data, and enable faster decision-making across engineering and production teams. This shift helps manufacturers improve planning accuracy and reduce errors at early stages.
The company also detailed the working design of its friction welding machine during technical discussions at their IMTEX booth. Sukumaran Nair, Chairman of ETA Technology, explained that the system uses a fixed or movable spindle, a slide-mounted vice, and a hydraulic cylinder to apply controlled axial force. The process maintains a stable temperature, pushes out impurities during welding, and applies a forging stage to achieve firm and consistent joints suitable for mass production.
Another standout among the exhibits were Friction Stir Welding solutions. These machines were highlighted for their ability to create defect-free, high-strength bonds in aluminium and other non-ferrous alloys. Significant interest was recorded from the Electric Vehicle (EV) sector for lightweighting applications involving Aluminium alloys.
Live discussions helped visitors understand where the machine delivers the most impact. These include applications where conventional welding struggles to meet strength and consistency needs. Friction welding supports a wide range of components across industries, including engine valves, CV joints, propeller shafts, axles, turbocharger parts, piston rods for shock absorbers, hydraulic cylinders, and copper-aluminium welding for electrical applications.
Interest also reflected a broader shift toward local manufacturing capability. Many visitors discussed how advanced joining processes that were earlier handled outside India can now be managed locally with better control and faster technical support.
ETA Technology closed IMTEX 2026 with a positive response, and the engagement bolstered confidence in the company’s engineering depth and its focus on long-term manufacturing needs.
The 2026 exhibition marked a pivotal point for ETA Technology. With its operations based in Bengaluru, the company didn’t just showcase machines; they showed a future where Its leadership in Solid Phase joining and Test Rigs are continuing to solve the most complex manufacturing challenges on the planet.
