For many manufacturers, the real challenge is making sure a part performs consistently every time. Even a small issue in the process can affect quality, delay production, and increase costs. Akshay Organics Private Limited, soon to be known as Akshay Surface Tech Private Limited, focuses on solving this problem. By combining machining and coating under one roof, it delivers complete components instead of partial services. Led by Kalpesh Daglia, Managing Director, the company has grown from a hard chrome plating unit into a setup that handles both machining and coating. The focus has remained clear: reduce dependency on multiple vendors and give customers a smoother, more reliable process.
From Coating Services to Complete In-House Capabilities
Akshay Surface Tech began its journey with hard chrome plating. Over time, customer requirements led to the addition of machining capabilities, allowing the company to handle the entire process internally.
Today, the facility is equipped with CNC lathe machines, cylindrical grinding machines, and other supporting equipment necessary for manufacturing and repairing cylindrical components, including shafts and rollers. The company serves multiple industries, including oil and gas, defence, pharmaceuticals, steel, cement, and aerospace.
The key advantage of this setup is the ability to manage every stage of production in one place. As Kalpesh Daglia explains, “We wanted to give our customers the finished product directly, not just a part of the process.” This approach removes the need for multiple vendors and avoids confusion between machining and coating teams.
Addressing a Critical Gap in Automotive Die Processing
One of the key focus areas is hard chrome plating of automotive dies. This is a specialised segment with very few players. These dies are used in press operations to shape sheet metal parts, and their performance directly affects product quality. A common issue here is scoring, which happens due to friction and material sticking during forming.
Kalpesh Daglia explains, “When you hard chrome plate these tools, the forming becomes smooth. The sheet does not stick, and scoring is reduced.” This process improves hardness, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance. It also helps increase the life of the tool.
He also highlights the importance of timing. Many users apply coating only after problems appear, but the right approach is to do it earlier. “If you do it at the right stage, you get the best life. Doing it after problems start will not solve the issue,” he says.
High-Capacity Infrastructure Supporting Large Components
To support this specialised work, the company has built strong handling and processing capabilities. It can manage components weighing up to 25 to 30 tons, which is essential for large automotive dies.
The plating tank itself measures 5 meters by 3 meters by 1.5 meters, making it suitable for handling a wide range of die sizes. This eliminates concerns about size limitations for customers. With this infrastructure, the company is well-positioned to serve industries that require large-scale, high-precision components.
Participation at TAGMA Die and Mould India 2026
The company will participate in TAGMA Die and Mould India 2026 as an exhibitor marking its first step into the industry exhibition. It also reflects the company’s intent to connect directly with customers and create awareness about its specialised solutions.
For Akshay Surface Tech, this is an important move, not just for visibility but also for creating awareness about its specialised capabilities. “We don’t usually market ourselves. This is the first exhibition we are participating in,” says Kalpesh Daglia.
The focus of the exhibition will be on hard chrome plating of automotive dies. The team also plans to showcase products such as piston rods, shafts, and rollers, but the core message remains clear. The company sees TAGMA as a platform to connect with the right audience and highlight a service that is still not widely understood or available.

Building Awareness Through a Focused Approach
Akshay Surface Tech is entering a niche segment with a clear and focused strategy. Instead of offering a wide range of services without direction, the company is highlighting a specific capability where there is limited competition. By combining technical understanding with practical execution, it aims to educate customers about the right use of processes like hard chrome plating and the value they can bring.
With its participation at TAGMA Die and Mould India 2026, the company is taking a step towards building awareness, connecting with the industry, and establishing its presence in a specialised but important segment of manufacturing.
