Omson Hydro Solution is gearing up for AMTEX 2024, North India’s biggest exhibition on the metal cutting and machine tools industry, from 26th to 29th July 2024 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. Dinesh Gambhir, founder of Omson Hydro Solution, is excited to participate in AMTEX, which focuses on the metal cutting and machine tools industry.
Omson Hydro Solutions based out of Delhi is participating in AMTEX 2024 for the first time. It is all set to exhibit its innovative indigenous products and solutions, to increase its brand value and showcase its innovations to manufacturers. Machine Maker had an exclusive interaction with Dinesh Gambhir, who is very passionate about building import substitute products in India. It was this quest for innovation made him found Omson Hydro Solution in the year 2012, and today serves more than 1000 customers across the country.
Participating in AMTEX 2024 is a strategic decision taken by Omson Hydro Solution to strengthen their brand visibility in the industry. Dinesh, highlights the importance of such shows in increasing brand value and visibility among consumers, “We will participate at AMTEX to maintain the brand’s value and showcase our innovation”. According to Mr Gambhir, AMTEX is considered as an essential platform for Omson Hydro Solution to interact with existing and future clients, showing the company’s innovation and excellence, given the high footfalls of visitors, comprising manufacturers and decision makers.
The company will be exhibiting at stall number G77 in Hall 12A, showcasing a variety of unique and innovative products that set them apart from competitors. Their products are renowned for being ‘Made in India’, providing a less expensive and more trustworthy alternative to foreign goods. They will exhibit live operating machines at their stall. Visitors can experience firsthand how their air-powered hydraulic pumps and gas boosters work.
This hands-on experience, along with the presence of technical specialists at the stall, allows for a thorough grasp of their goods’ functionality and benefits. “We are committed to providing 100% after-sales support, including an impressive 18-month warranty on our products. This is a huge advantage over others who market imported equipment with limited guaranteed durations and less after-sales support”, shared Dinesh Gambhir.
Omson’s Journey of Empowering India with Import Substitutes
In 1999, Dinesh completed his BTech in Mechanical Engineering from GIE Sonipat. After graduating, he joined his brother Ashok Gambhir who was in the business of manufacturing hydraulic presses and hydraulic cylinders. However, Dinesh, with a visionary mind, wanted to start with something unique other than the same line of products. It so happened that, they used to get some hydraulic overload pumps to repair which usually are imported.

“We started manufacturing these pumps as we got to know their importance and value in the industry. We realised at that point of time there were only two manufacturers of these pumps, otherwise these pumps are mostly imported by OEMs”, shared Dinesh Gambhir. Since hydraulics was a vast platform that everybody whom they knew were opting for, Dinesh’s vision to start with something unique, got accomplished when they start manufacturing Hydraulic Overload pumps, in the year 2009.
It was during 2012, Dinesh Gambhir decided to start his own venture, and founded Omson Hydro Solutions based out of Gurgaon. A year later in 2013, the company moved to DSIIDC Industrial Area, Bawana in Delhi. Today Omson Hydro Solutions supplies indigenous products and components across India to major OEMs like Ashok Leyland, Maruti Suzuki, Honda, Hero Honda, and over 1000 other customers, primarily in the automotive sector. Omson Hydro Solutions products are widely used in presses, injection moulding, die casting, and forging presses. In the last two years, they also developed and introduced new products like air boosters and gas boosters. Mr Gambhir proudly states, “We are the only manufacturer in India for Gas Boosters.”
Growing the business is a challenge for Dinesh, as the Machines where his products are used are imported now. Until and unless there will be machine builders in India, Dinesh need to focus more on aftersales service where these products are looked out for. “From the total imports of these products in India, we capture around 20 percent of the market. Traditionally, India hasn’t had a strong trend of manufacturing these machines, so most of them are imported. For instance, Die-clamping systems that are usually imported by OEMs or integrated into large machines, are also imported”, said Dinesh Gambhir.
Omson Hydro Solution is finding huge potential in manufacturing and delivering such critical components because if they break down or have any technical difficulties they were earlier imported, becoming costly and time-consuming. However, now these significant issues have a permanent solution with Omson providing these critical components, a great benefit to Indian manufacturing.
Dinesh Gambhir’s journey has not been easy, as he is pioneering new approaches in a market that is not yet fully receptive. While the market is still developing, growth requires patience and an unshakable dedication to the initial vision. Through his innovative efforts, Dinesh Gambhir has made a significant impact on the manufacturing industry, driving transformative change despite challenges. Dinesh and Omson Hydro Solutions is expecting you to look at their innovations at AMTEX 2024, Stall G77 in Hall 12A.
