AUMOVIO reported a marked improvement in profitability for fiscal year 2025, achieving its financial targets despite a challenging global market environment. The company recorded adjusted consolidated sales of €18.5 billion, reflecting an anticipated year-on-year decline of 5.0%. On an organic basis, adjusted for portfolio and currency effects, sales were down 2.5%.
Profitability, however, strengthened significantly. Adjusted earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) rose by 45.4% to €717 million, with the EBIT margin improving to 3.9%, compared to 2.5% in the previous year. This performance reached the upper end of the company’s guidance, underscoring effective execution of its operational strategy.
Chief Executive Officer Philipp von Hirschheydt said the company’s disciplined approach continues to deliver measurable results. He noted that while market conditions are expected to remain demanding in 2026, AUMOVIO is actively addressing external pressures while reinforcing its competitive position. The company remains focused on achieving its long-term EBIT margin target of 6% to 8%.
AUMOVIO maintained a solid financial foundation throughout the year. Adjusted free cash flow remained positive at €159 million, despite €491 million in cash outflows linked to restructuring activities and a corporate spin-off. Excluding these special items, normalized free cash flow reached €650 million. The company ended the year with a strong net liquidity position of €1.4 billion, with its syndicated credit facility remaining fully undrawn.
Chief Financial Officer Jutta Dönges highlighted that the company’s financial resilience provides flexibility to support ongoing transformation efforts. She added that AUMOVIO aims to further enhance profitability in 2026 while sustaining strong normalized cash flow levels.
Performance across business segments was mixed, though several areas delivered notable margin improvements. The Autonomous Mobility segment reported sales of €3.1 billion, down 5.5%, while narrowing its operating loss. Architecture and Network Solutions generated €5.0 billion in sales, impacted by project changes and regional volume declines, with EBIT moderating to €360 million.
The Safety and Motion division remained stable, posting €7.4 billion in sales and a 42.1% increase in EBIT to €372 million, driven by cost efficiencies. The User Experience segment showed significant improvement, returning to positive EBIT of €11 million, supported by structural measures and cost optimization.
Looking ahead, AUMOVIO expects global vehicle production to remain subdued in 2026 amid geopolitical uncertainties and intensifying competition. The company forecasts sales between €17.0 billion and €18.5 billion, with an EBIT margin of 3.5% to 5.0%, and normalized free cash flow ranging from €500 million to €800 million. AUMOVIO will continue advancing efficiency initiatives, optimizing its global footprint, and investing in innovation, including next-generation sensor and display technologies, to drive long-term growth.
