Boehringer Ingelheim India Private Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Raebareli, including its Centre of Excellence for Novel Drug Delivery Systems. The agreement aims to expand collaboration in pharmaceutical education, research and training.

The MoU was signed at the Department of Pharmaceuticals in the presence of senior government officials, including Manoj Joshi, Secretary, Department of Pharmaceuticals. The partnership creates a framework for joint work in areas such as pharmaceutical technology, advanced drug delivery systems, research projects, academic exchanges and skill development initiatives.

Under the agreement, Boehringer Ingelheim India will provide access to its open science platform opnMe®, which connects researchers and institutions to tools and information that support innovation in healthcare. The collaboration will also include symposia, short-term training programmes, conferences and opportunities for student engagement.

She noted that India’s pharmaceutical sector is moving toward research-led growth and that such collaborations can help build scientific capability and improve patient care.

Professor Shubhini A Saraf, Director of NIPER Raebareli, said the MoU supports the institute’s goal of strengthening pharmaceutical education and research. She added that the collaboration will provide students and researchers with exposure to new technologies and help them work on emerging areas such as novel drug delivery systems and community health solutions.

The initiative comes as India focuses on expanding research and innovation in the pharmaceutical sector. Government policies are encouraging stronger industry–academia partnerships to develop new therapies, improve manufacturing capabilities and build skilled talent for the future.

Through this collaboration, Boehringer Ingelheim India and NIPER Raebareli aim to create opportunities for joint research, training and knowledge sharing. The partners said the effort will help prepare future scientists and support the development of more effective and accessible healthcare solutions.
