The fourth edition of Vitafoods India opened today at the Jio World Convention Centre, bringing renewed energy to India’s rapidly advancing nutraceutical and wellness industry. Running from February 11–13, 2026, the three-day event convenes stakeholders from across the nutraceutical, functional food, beverage, and dietary supplement sectors.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by senior representatives from regulatory authorities, trade bodies, international delegations, and leading companies, reflecting strong institutional and industry participation. This year’s edition is expected to welcome over 10,000 trade visitors and features more than 200 domestic and international exhibitors. Over 40 experts will share insights across 19 focused knowledge sessions during the exhibition.
India’s nutraceutical market continues to gain strength, driven by demographic shifts, lifestyle changes, and rising consumer focus on preventive healthcare. By 2050, the country’s elderly population is projected to reach 347 million, creating sustained demand for functional foods that support energy, cognition, and metabolic health. A growing middle class, now representing roughly 35% of the population, is increasingly investing in everyday wellness solutions. Meanwhile, increasing lifestyle-related health concerns are accelerating interest in weight management, immunity support, and personalised nutrition, particularly among consumers aged 25–45.
Industry leaders highlighted that India currently accounts for nearly 2% of the global nutraceutical market but holds significant potential for expansion. The sector benefits from strong pharmaceutical capabilities, an evolving regulatory framework, and expanding manufacturing hubs in states such as Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh. India’s extensive trade partnerships with key markets including the UK, EU, USA, UAE, Mauritius, and Australia further enhance export opportunities. Continued emphasis on research, molecule development, and scientific validation is expected to drive responsible and sustainable growth.
Globally, the nutraceutical industry is projected to reach USD 919 billion by 2030, expanding steadily across functional foods, dietary supplements, and personalised nutrition. In this context, collaboration between regulators and industry stakeholders remains critical to ensuring product safety, quality standards, and consumer trust. Demand for plant-based, clean-label, and sustainably sourced products continues to rise, supported by the rapid growth of e-commerce and direct-to-consumer channels.
The botanical ingredients segment in India is also undergoing significant transformation. Structured cultivation practices, farmer partnerships, and compliance with international standards have strengthened export credibility. The industry has evolved from traditional ratio-based formulations to standardised extracts supported by advanced analytical testing and clinical research, reinforcing India’s global positioning.
The exhibition floor features a diverse range of participants across ingredients and raw materials, branded finished products, contract manufacturing, equipment, and private label solutions. New experiential zones—including the Global Trends Zone, Innovation Zone, and Tasting Zone—offer attendees hands-on exposure to emerging formulations, formats, and flavour profiles shaping future consumer demand.
Complementing the exhibition is a three-day conference themed “Nutri-Critical 2030: Science, Standards and Scale for India’s Global Significance.” Discussions focus on regulatory frameworks, labelling compliance, research-led innovation, women-centric nutrition, healthy ageing, microbiome science, protein adequacy, sustainable nutrition models, and strategies to engage next-generation consumers.
With its integrated focus on business, science, and policy, Vitafoods India 2026 continues to serve as a vital platform advancing the growth, credibility, and global competitiveness of India’s nutraceutical and wellness industry.
