INOX Air Products Private Limited (INOXAP), a major Indian producer of industrial, electronic and medical gases, has achieved an important milestone by starting operations of a PESO-approved large package warehouse for specialty gases in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu. The newly authorised facility can store vital gases such as Nitrous Oxide and Silane in tube trailers, along with Hydrogen mixtures in Y-tonners.
This site has been developed mainly to support India’s solar photovoltaic (PV) cell manufacturing sector, which requires steady supply and high-volume availability of critical gases. Approval from the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO) strengthens INOXAP’s safety standards, regulatory adherence, and overall operational capacity in the industrial gases segment.
For customers—especially solar manufacturers—this warehouse ensures stronger supply continuity and faster response. Keeping large inventories of key gases within India will help shorten import timelines, lower the impact of global supply interruptions, and support uninterrupted manufacturing operations. This also improves production efficiency and strengthens supply-chain stability, contributing to India’s broader renewable energy targets.
Commenting on the development, Siddharth Jain, Managing Director – INOX Air Products, said that this step supports India’s push for self-reliance in solar manufacturing. He highlighted that the initiative is not only an infrastructure upgrade, but also a move to strengthen safety, dependable sourcing, and innovation required for scaling the solar industry. He also thanked PESO for encouraging such progressive developments.
This added capability reinforces INOXAP’s role as a key partner for large-scale solar manufacturers. Designed with safety at its core, the consolidated warehousing model will simplify logistics, reduce transit delays, and allow strategic stocking to meet fluctuating demand more effectively.
INOX Air Products is among India’s leading manufacturers of industrial, electronic and specialty gases. The company supplies gases, equipment and related services backed by a liquid gas manufacturing capacity of more than 6,000 TPD. Operations span over 50 locations across India, serving more than 1,800 manufacturing units across multiple industries.
The company traces its roots to 1963, when it was founded by the Jain Family in Pune, Maharashtra as Industrial Oxygen Company Ltd, to support India’s growing industrial base. In 1999, Air Products & Chemicals Inc., USA acquired a 50% stake, forming INOX Air Products—one of the longest-running Indo-American manufacturing joint ventures in India.
