Zelus Material Handling, part of the Ardent Group of Companies, announced the acquisition of Munck Cranes, a well-established Canadian brand in overhead crane manufacturing and service. The acquisition brings together two long-standing companies in the industrial material handling space and is expected to expand Zelus Material Handling’s national reach, production capabilities, and service coverage across Canada.

Munck Cranes was founded in 1983 and has built a strong reputation in the material handling sector for dependable equipment, product innovation, and a continued focus on Canadian manufacturing. Through this transaction, Zelus and Munck will combine technical expertise, manufacturing resources, and service teams to strengthen support for customers in industries such as construction, manufacturing, energy, and logistics.

Simon Abdelmalak, General Manager of Zelus Material Handling, said the acquisition marks a logical next step for both organizations. He noted that Munck has built a respected legacy in Canada and that integrating its people, product line, and operational strength will help Zelus expand while maintaining a strong commitment to quality and reliable customer support.

Zelus said Munck’s operations will continue during the transition period to ensure customers experience no disruption in service. The company added that Munck customers will also benefit from Ardent’s broader support model, including inspection programs, technical training, and manufacturing resources.

Bryan White, Co-President of Ardent Industries, said the acquisition creates an opportunity to further strengthen Canadian industrial capability. He added that both Zelus and Munck share similar principles, including a focus on innovation, integrity, and customer-first execution, and that together they form one of the country’s most capable partners in material handling and overhead crane solutions.

Jason White, Co-President of Ardent Industries, said the acquisition supports Ardent’s longer-term direction of building strong Canadian brands with meaningful impact in their industries. He added that Zelus continues to grow while staying aligned with its mission of delivering cranes, supporting teams, and serving customers with consistency.

Following the acquisition, Zelus said it now operates one of the country’s largest overhead crane service networks, supported by more than 55 field technicians, multiple fabrication facilities, and a broad range of inspection services, spare parts support, and training programs through its partner brand, Engaged Training Solutions.

Zelus Material Handling designs, manufactures, installs, and services overhead cranes and material handling systems across Canada. The company provides 24/7 support and works with industrial customers to improve lifting safety, productivity, and operational efficiency.
