Tata Consultancy Services (BSE: 532540, NSE: TCS) has been selected by Kalmar Oyj (Nasdaq Helsinki: KALMAR) as its strategic IT partner to lead a comprehensive transformation of Kalmar’s global IT services. Under the partnership, TCS will support Kalmar in building a modern, integrated digital IT foundation aimed at improving efficiency, lowering operational costs, and increasing business agility. The engagement will focus on simplifying Kalmar’s existing IT environment by bringing application development and maintenance, end-user services, and infrastructure and hybrid cloud operations under a single, unified delivery model.
As part of the transformation, TCS will introduce an AI-enabled operations framework supported by a centralised command centre. This approach is intended to improve system visibility, strengthen service reliability, and reduce operational complexity across Kalmar’s global operations. The initiative will also enhance the digital workplace for Kalmar’s 5,200 employees by using AI-driven tools to support more effective interaction between people and systems.
The collaboration builds on a long-standing relationship between the two companies. TeroLehtonen, Chief Information Officer at Kalmar, said the decision to expand the partnership was based on confidence developed through previous engagements. He noted that TCS’s ability to deliver a flexible, AI-led IT foundation will play an important role in supporting Kalmar’s strategic objectives.
SubhadiptaSamantray, Country Head, TCS Finland, said Kalmar’s selection of TCS reflects its experience in managing complex enterprise IT transformations, including post-separation transitions. He added that TCS’s local presence in the Nordic region, combined with global delivery capabilities, positions the company well to support Kalmar’s operational goals and long-term digital roadmap.
Arun Pradeep Surendra Mohan, Business Head – Travel & Logistics, EMEA at TCS, said the focus of the engagement is to create a resilient digital core that can scale with Kalmar’s business needs. By combining industry knowledge with AI capabilities and an integrated delivery approach, TCS aims to simplify Kalmar’s IT landscape, strengthen operational stability, and improve employee experience while supporting sustained innovation.
