Acronis Launches Archival Storage Solution for Long-Term, Compliant Data Retention

manufacturing-news

Acronis has announced the launch of Acronis Archival Storage, a long-term data storage and protection solution designed for managed service providers (MSPs) and their small and medium business customers. The solution addresses the growing need for secure, compliant, and cost-stable storage of infrequently accessed data, with fast retrieval when required.

Acronis Archival Storage is built for data-intensive and compliance-driven environments, allowing users to retain large volumes of data using S3-compatible object storage. The solution is fully integrated into Acronis’ unified management and billing platform, enabling MSPs to manage archival storage alongside backup and cyber protection services through a single interface.

The platform delivers high durability and availability, with millisecond-level data retrieval, encryption, and immutability features to ensure data integrity and regulatory compliance. A predictable pricing model eliminates egress and API fees, helping MSPs avoid unexpected costs commonly associated with public cloud storage. The service is supported by seven globally distributed data centres, improving connectivity and regional compliance coverage.

GaidarMagdanurov, President of Acronis, said many organisations are required to retain data for extended periods due to regulations and industry standards. He noted that Acronis Archival Storage enables MSPs to offer long-term retention services that are simple to deploy, cost-efficient, and integrated directly into Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud.

Traditional archival options such as tape storage are slow and difficult to search, while public cloud services often introduce unpredictable costs. Acronis Archival Storage addresses these challenges by offering a low-maintenance solution that provides reliable access to archived data for audits, investigations, or data analysis.

Melyssa Banda, Senior Vice President at Seagate, said the partnership with Acronis ensures archived data remains protected, accessible, and economically predictable, supported by Seagate Lyve Cloud infrastructure.

For MSPs, the solution offers a new opportunity to differentiate services and build predictable margins by combining archival storage with Acronis’ broader cyber protection ecosystem, delivering end-to-end data management with a cold storage tier. Founded in Singapore in 2003 and now based in Switzerland, Acronis operates in over 50 countries with 15 global offices. Its Cyber Protect platform is available in 26 languages and used by over 20,000 service providers to protect more than 750,000 businesses.
