Devon-based XYZ Machine Tools Ltd will showcase a range of CNC machines at Southern Manufacturing & Electronics 2026, taking place from 3–5 February at the Farnborough International Exhibition Centre. The company, the UK’s largest CNC machine supplier by unit volume, will demonstrate CNC controls in operation and carry out live cutting to illustrate machining capability and throughput.

Among the machines on display will be the recently launched XYZ 400 UMC, designed to make five-axis machining accessible to a broader range of workshops. The machine features a 400mm diameter tilt rotary table driven by a Japanese roller cam mechanism, enabling reduced setup times when producing components with multiple faces or when carrying out simultaneous five-axis machining.

The XYZ 400 UMC is equipped with a 25.7kW (35hp) spindle and offers X, Y and Z travels of 800 x 600 x 510mm. It is fitted with the Siemens Sinumerik One control, featuring a 22-inch touchscreen. The control can be supplied in a 4+1 configuration or upgraded to full five-axis simultaneous machining, either at the time of order or after installation.

Also featured will be the XYZ 500LR vertical machining centre and a CT 65 HD turning centre. Both machines will be fitted with Siemens 828D controls and Jobshop conversational software, demonstrating the Shopmill and Shopturn programming environments.

The stand will also include three machines using the ProtoTRAK RX series 15-inch touchscreen conversational control. These include the RLX 355 lathe, which has a 52mm spindle bore, two-speed headstock, 225mm swing over the cross slide and 1,000mm between centres, suited to one-off and small batch turning work.

In addition, the RMX 3500 bed mill will be shown, offering X and Y travels of 750 x 480mm. The machine can be operated manually or programmed using conversational software and will be displayed with DXF programming capability.

Completing the display will be the XYZ 750 TMC, a hybrid machine controlled by ProtoTRAK, featuring a 20-station tool carousel and an 11kW (15hp) BT40 spindle. The machine is intended to support both low-volume and higher-volume production while retaining manual operation capability.
