Cyient Semiconductors has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire a majority stake in Kinetic Technologies, a globally established provider of power management, analog, and mixed-signal integrated circuits. The total consideration for the transaction is valued at up to USD 93 million. This strategic investment marks a significant step in strengthening Cyient Semiconductors’ position in the rapidly expanding global power semiconductor market, estimated to exceed USD 40 billion.
The combination of Cyient Semiconductors’ custom ASIC design capabilities with Kinetic Technologies’ proven portfolio of power conversion, protection, display power, and interface solutions is expected to create a strong, scalable platform addressing high-growth sectors. These include data centres, electrification, automotive electronics, networking infrastructure, industrial automation, and emerging edge AI computing applications. Together, the two companies aim to deliver advanced, application-specific power solutions that address increasing demands for performance, efficiency, and reliability.
Kinetic Technologies brings deep expertise supported by proprietary innovations and a portfolio of more than 100 patents focused on power and protection architectures. This technical depth will enable faster development of custom power management ICs and system-level solutions, helping customers reduce complexity, optimise energy efficiency, and improve total cost of ownership across high-volume deployments. The integration is expected to shorten development cycles while enhancing scalability and performance for next-generation electronic systems.
The transaction structure is designed to ensure business continuity for customers and partners. Kinetic Technologies will continue to operate with its existing leadership team and engineering organisation, maintaining its engineering-driven culture and long-standing customer relationships while aligning with Cyient Semiconductors’ strategic direction and governance framework.
Commenting on the transaction, Suman Narayan, CEO of Cyient Semiconductors, said the acquisition significantly strengthens the company’s ability to address complex power, thermal, and reliability challenges driven by accelerating AI and compute workloads. Kin Shum, CEO of Kinetic Technologies, noted that the partnership provides access to new growth opportunities, including India’s expanding semiconductor ecosystem and talent pool, at a time when the country is entering a critical phase of industry development.
The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals and closing conditions and is expected to be completed in the coming months. Cyient Semiconductors, headquartered in Hyderabad, specializes in custom ASIC and ASSP development with expertise in analog mixed-signal, intelligent power solutions, and advanced semiconductor platforms. With design locations in India, Belgium, and the United States, the company supports global clients in data centers, robotics, automotive technologies, and industrial automation, helping them achieve greater efficiency and faster time-to-market.
