UST has once again been honoured at the Mahatma Awards, securing the 2025 recognition for Digital Transformation and Social Impact. This marks the fourth year in a row that the global technology and AI solutions company has been acknowledged by one of India’s most respected CSR award platforms, reinforcing its continued dedication to advancing large-scale community development and meaningful societal outcomes.

The Mahatma Award celebrates organizations and individuals whose work reflects the values and humanitarian principles championed by Mahatma Gandhi. UST’s repeated recognition reflects the measurable and sustained progress achieved through its CSR programmes across diverse regions and beneficiary groups.

UST’s CSR strategy is closely aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2030, with focused investments in five core pillars: education, health, livelihood advancement, environmental responsibility and disaster relief. The company attributes its achievements to its values-driven culture, which motivates employees to contribute time and expertise to social causes. This focus has been central to the organization’s CSR wins every year since 2022.

Education continues to be a major priority for UST, with initiatives ranging from scholarships and STEM training to school adoption projects and inclusive digital learning programmes for students with disabilities. Simultaneously, the company has amplified its commitment to healthcare, especially after the pandemic, by supporting critical care, expanding access to assistive health technologies and strengthening medical outreach programmes in rural and tribal communities.

UST is also focused on building long-term resilience among disadvantaged groups by enabling economic independence. Its livelihood and skilling programmes equip women, youth, tribal communities and individuals with disabilities with employment-oriented capabilities and links to market-driven opportunities.

“We are proud to receive the Mahatma Award for the fourth consecutive year. Since its founding in 1999, UST has been committed to transforming lives, upholding humility, humanity and integrity as the foundation of our culture and CSR philosophy,” said Sunil Balakrishnan, Chief Values Officer and Global Head for Development Center Operations at UST. The recognition was presented to Sunil Balakrishnan and Smita Sharma, Global Program Manager, during a ceremony at the India International Center in New Delhi, where Ms Sharma also served as a panel speaker discussing the role of corporations in advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals through trusteeship.
