Nuberg EPC, a global leader in engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) for the chemical process industry, has been awarded the contract to design and build a 120 tonnes per day (TPD) Chlor-Alkali expansion and an 80 TPD Calcium Chloride Plant for Al Ghaith Chemical Industries LLC at Sur Industrial City, Oman.
This project marks the second phase of Al Ghaith’s integrated chemical complex in Sur and represents the largest Chlor-Alkali expansion of its kind in Oman. It underscores Nuberg EPC’s critical role in supporting the Sultanate’s industrial diversification and its vision of chemical self-sufficiency. Executed on a Lump Sum Turnkey (LSTK) basis, the project scope includes Design, FEED, Detailed Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, Construction, Commissioning, and Handover. Work on the project has already commenced, with completion expected within 19 months, reaffirming Nuberg’s proven track record in delivering projects efficiently and on schedule.
Phase I of the Sur chemical complex, also executed by Nuberg EPC, comprised a 70 TPD Chlor-Alkali facility, establishing Al Ghaith’s manufacturing presence in Oman. The new expansion adds 120 TPD of additional capacity, increasing the plant’s total output to 190 TPD, further strengthening Oman’s downstream chemical value chain.
