UFlex Limited, India’s largest multinational in flexible packaging and solutions, has announced its partnership with Triveni Continental Kings (TCK) for Season 3 of the Tech Mahindra Global Chess League (GCL) — the world’s first and only professional, team-based chess league. The alliance marks UFlex’s continued commitment to supporting sports that foster intellectual growth, innovation, and youth engagement.
Triveni Continental Kings, the reigning back-to-back champions of GCL, return this season with a world-class roster featuring Grandmasters Alireza Firouzja, Wei Yi, and Vidit Gujrathi, alongside former Women’s World Champion Alexandra Kosteniuk and Chinese Grandmaster Zhu Jiner, one of China’s top-ranked players. Rising French prodigy Marc’Andria Maurizzi, winner of the 2023 World Junior Championship and the 2025 French Championship, completes the team lineup.
The team will once again be guided by Dutch Grandmaster Loek van Wely, former national coach of Italy, whose leadership has been instrumental in TCK’s past victories. As part of the partnership, UFlex branding will appear on the official jerseys of Triveni Continental Kings players throughout the season.
“We are proud to associate with Triveni Continental Kings,” said Apoorvshree Chaturvedi, Director – Global Operations, UFlex Limited. “Our partnership reflects our shared belief in learning, discipline, and creativity — values at the heart of both business and chess. Supporting chess aligns with our philosophy of nurturing critical thinking and inspiring young minds. Over the years, UFlex has championed initiatives across sports, from cricket to football development, and this collaboration reinforces our commitment to empowering talent and promoting intellectual sports that define India’s global identity.”
Akash Premsen, CEO of Triveni Continental Kings, added, “As we enter Season 3, we’re proud to carry forward our legacy as two-time champions. Partnering with UFlex, a brand synonymous with innovation and excellence, strengthens our mission to expand the reach of chess and inspire new audiences. The Global Chess League is revolutionizing the perception of chess, transforming it into one of the fastest-growing spectator sports in India and beyond.” The partnership comes at a time when chess is witnessing a surge in popularity across India, driven by digital engagement, grassroots programs, and world-class talent representing the country on global stages.
