TACC Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of HEG Limited and part of the LNJ Bhilwara Group, has secured a ₹1,230 crore credit facility from the State Bank of India. The funding will be used to develop a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Dewas, Madhya Pradesh, designed to produce 20,000 metric tons per annum (MTPA) of lithium-ion battery-grade graphite anode material. This facility will be one of the first of its kind in India, marking a crucial step toward building a self-sufficient domestic supply chain for advanced energy materials.

The new plant will be a cornerstone in India’s push for self-reliance in critical technologies, particularly in the electric vehicle (EV) and energy storage sectors, where battery-grade graphite anodes are vital components. TACC’s efforts will contribute to India’s broader clean energy goals, supporting the nation’s transition to a more sustainable future by producing key materials locally.

Ankur Khaitan, Managing Director & CEO of TACC Limited, said: “The funding from the State Bank of India reinforces our long-term vision to position India as a leader in the advanced energy materials sector. This facility is not just an industrial achievement; it’s a crucial step in ensuring that clean energy technologies are designed, developed, and manufactured in India. We are committed to enhancing India’s role in the global transition to sustainable energy.”

The Dewas facility will incorporate cutting-edge technology and environmentally friendly production processes to manufacture high-quality graphite anode materials that meet international standards. Once operational, the plant will be key to strengthening India’s clean energy infrastructure and supporting the country’s move towards a more self-reliant and sustainable future.
