Corona has been on the minds of everyone we know and everything we do. The world is in fear of this unknown virus called COVID- 19. This is a time to use your best judgment to protect yourself and your family. Whatever is said by the medical practitioners and the Authorities, please follow that. Do not be complacent thinking this is some far off event, it can get real, real quick if someone we know gets infected. This can be a stressful time and here are a few ways to cope with this stress.
Things you can do to support yourself
- Take breaks from watching, reading, or listening to news stories, including social media. Hearing about the pandemic repeatedly can be upsetting.
- Take care of your body. Take deep breaths, stretch, or meditate. Try to eat healthy, well-balanced meals, exercise regularly, get plenty of sleep, and avoid alcohol and drugs.
- Make time to unwind. Try to do some other activities you enjoy.
- Connect digitally with others. Talk with people you trust about your concerns and how you are feeling.

Focus on the Positives
Work from home can be a different and enriching experience. Look at the bright side with you spending more time with family, Sharing more meals with the family. If you have been putting off that book to read, now is the time. It is also a time to connect with people digitally, with so many avenues now available, everyone you know is a call away. Check on friends and family you haven't spoken to in a while because we were busy being busy with work!
Business Activities
This is a tough situation for all of us. It is best to let everyone adjust to the situation, it takes different times for different individuals. The business takes a back seat for some time until it is essential to work. Hence be patient with your associates, suppliers, vendors, customers at this time. Watch out for each other and ways you can help each other. Be candid, clear in stating what is needed from them and what you can offer in the interim.
Innovate:
With regular work schedules always taking our mind space, we never get a chance to think. Now you have time on your hands, and you can utilize a part of it to think of work and there will be ideas that will emerge which can help you innovate in the workspace, once back.
Build:
Team building- Most of us are used to team-building exercises at offsite and far away destinations. Now is the time to digitally connect and have a team day. Try it, it could be fun. Try solving puzzles, thinking collaboratively on workflow, etc.
This is a time that with collective will and grit, will be overcome and in the process bring the entire organization and the people together
