Nextgen Semiconductors announced plans to raise between ₹1,000 crore and ₹1,500 crore over the next 12 months through a combination of equity and structured instruments. The funds will support its upcoming semiconductor manufacturing facility at Dholera, Gujarat.
The company has outlined a phased investment of over ₹8,800 crore to develop India’s first fully integrated Silicon (Si) and Silicon Carbide (SiC) power semiconductor platform. The facility is designed to create a wafer-to-power electronics ecosystem, catering to high-demand sectors such as electric vehicles, renewable energy, data centres, and industrial electronics, thereby boosting India’s self-reliance in critical semiconductor technologies.
Project work at Dholera is expected to commence by April 2026, with commissioning targeted within 15 months thereafter. Land allocation for the project has already been secured, and the proposal is under review by the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM).
Nextgen is promoted by a consortium of global and Indian players including IVP (Malaysia), Transworld, Myotic, and investors Malvika Agarwal, Harsh Agarwal, and Ayush Goel. The company has also entered into a definitive agreement with Hitachi India Pvt Ltd and its associates to bring international process expertise and strengthen market access.
Raja Manickam, Director, Nextgen Semiconductors, said “By combining world-class capacity with a phased execution model, we are positioning India not just as a consumer but as a global supplier of Si and SiC devices.”
