UST, a global leader in AI and technology-driven transformation solutions, announced the 5th edition of its signature hackathon event, D3CODE 2025. This international challenge will be held across five countries—India, the US, the UK, Mexico, and Malaysia—and invites undergraduate and graduate students to showcase their talent by developing innovative solutions to some of today’s most significant global challenges.
The 2025 edition focuses on the theme “Shaping New Frontiers – Data, Intelligence and Quantum”, encouraging participants to leverage cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and intelligent data ecosystems. Teams that register will participate in a structured, multi-stage evaluation process, where solutions will be assessed based on creativity, scalability, feasibility, user experience, and overall impact. Registration is open now and will close on 10th September 2025. Interested participants can sign up through region-specific registration links.
D3CODE has earned its reputation as a platform that drives real innovation. In the 2024 edition, Leon Kipkoech from Florida National University in Miami, Florida, secured the top prize with a solution that attracted industry attention and demonstrated practical applications with commercial potential.
Since its inception in 2019, D3CODE has expanded significantly—from 840 initial applications to over 12,000 entries in recent years. Students from leading institutions like IIT Roorkee, Florida National University, and Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University have contributed solutions addressing areas such as accessibility, environmental sustainability, and more.
Niranjan Ram, Chief Technology Officer at UST, stated, “D3CODE is a space where the creators of tomorrow transform breakthrough technologies into real-world solutions. As data-driven technologies continue to reshape industries and society, we’re encouraging students to move beyond prototypes and create impactful, scalable solutions. We are proud to support these innovators, connect them with global mentors, and witness their contributions firsthand.”
The competition will unfold in four phases in each participating region, starting with idea submission, followed by hackathon rounds and culminating in in-person regional finals. Winners from each country will proceed to the Global Finale, held virtually from 25–30 September 2025. The top team will be awarded USD 10,000, while regional winners will also receive prize money. Participants will benefit from expert guidance from UST to refine and expand their solutions. Finalists will also present their projects at the prestigious D3 conference in Thiruvananthapuram, India.
Launched in 2019, D3CODE has become UST’s flagship initiative to empower the next generation of innovators, fostering collaboration, creativity, and global problem-solving with a focus on making a positive social impact.
