Mahindra Tractors, India’s No.1 tractor brand, has partnered with the Government of Maharashtra to establish a Skill Development Centre in Gadchiroli. The agreement was signed in Mumbai between Mahindra Tractors, the Department of Vocational Education & Training (DVET), and the Maharashtra State Skill Development Society (MSSDS), in the presence of Honourable Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
This initiative is a joint effort between Mahindra Tractors, DVET, and MSSDS to promote skill development among rural youth in Gadchiroli. The centre will focus on equipping participants with industry-ready skills while creating livelihood opportunities in the region. The initiative aligns with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Devendra Fadnavis, who have prioritized skill development to leverage India’s demographic dividend.
Speaking at the event, Veejay Nakra, President – Farm Equipment Business, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, said, “Maharashtra is not only a leading industrial hub but also closely linked with the growth of the farming sector. We are proud to partner with the Government of Maharashtra to build a stronger ecosystem for skill development among rural youth in Gadchiroli. Together, we aim to empower rural communities and boost their prosperity.”
Through the Tractor Skill Development Centre, Mahindra Tractors will bring its deep expertise in tractor and farm machinery to support skill-building efforts. The centre will offer career opportunities across the ecosystem, including assembly roles at manufacturing facilities and sales and service roles at dealership locations. Students will benefit from a structured curriculum delivered by expert trainers, using modern technical equipment and hands-on experience in various tractor-related fields.
